Yeah, I get that . . and it seems to be because it is a “half tree”. At least that is what turned me off to that nation. I have nothing against any nation represented in the game, as I keep all my political views outside of the game, where they belong.
I have 12 or 13 Israeli vehicles in total, I don’t think I have less than 100 of any of the other 9(98 for China maybe, I forget), but the main reason is I don’t enjoy high tier or modern vehicles and Israel basically starts off about the point where I lose interest anyway, so . . . I have never felt compelled to play them much . .
personal preference is all.
I didn’t think it was a very good idea when Israel came into the game in that state, I mean it was not even a sovereign nation until 1948 and that is well beyond the starting point of any other nation in the game, so it just didn’t make sense to me.
Again, it’s not what Gaijin did so much as how they did it.
But you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube, so . . . ya get what ya get
Just glad they seemed to have learned from it . . .
But I would not be against a “mixed” nation or international tree, provided it was a “full” tree, like 9 of the 10 we have now . . . some day it may be necessary if they want to continue to add new vehicles to the game anyway, so . . . we’ll see
Totally agree.
Mainly because of the fact that it killed (together with Sweden / Finland) the remains of immersion in the WW 2 era.
For their later weapon systems like Kfir or Merkava i see Israel as relevant nation for the game - especially as they used them in combat.
Ironically, I find Israeli TT superior to Chinese TT for the half-tree aspect.
It reduces the amount of confusing copy-paste and time-travelling vehicles that Sweden, France and China require to be functional at WW2 brackets. Like sure, Sweden+finland had some cool aircraft designs but it’s insufficient for a tech tree that spans from Rank 1 to rank 4 and it’s even worse for France and China where the bulk of their domestic designs are interwar (Rank 1, some rank 2).
I have zero clues whether there exists any Central & South American domestic aircraft designs that are at all relevant for WW2 matchmaker brackets.
I honestly kinda wish we had more “half-trees” if anything to be able to cover nations that ended up being split in two as a consequence of WW2 (West/east germany) or have their subtrees swap from solid allies to enemies (Italy & Hungary).
because we are just the world’s breadbasket, nobody cares about us lol
Yeah, it’d be really cool to get some Spanish Civil War decals
The colonizers having their own tech tree while the colonized as sub-tech tree is ironic considering how poor Spanish or Portugal is compared to some Latin American countries, is like adding USA as sub-tech tree for Great Britain.
The core point though, Is I think Spain would add viable top tier (F-18 and Typhoons for Air but I have no idea about ground) which none of LATAM would have iirc and that is why they are against adding LATAM at the moment.
Portugal and Spain regarding ground would only add vehicles made by Joint Ventures between government entities and foreign companies like Rheinmetall like the Leopard 2E. Modernization or specific modification, for LatAm mostly modification or failed projects that didn’t made into production.
The Israel TT was received poorly because of how badly it was implemented, not because Israel can’t be a good TT. That’d be Gaijin failing to read the room.
To be honest, Spain doesn’t have much to add for top tier ground besides a ton of Light Vehicles (ASCODs from the Spanish-Austria partnership and some VRCs from a Spanish subsidiary of General Dynamics Santa Bárbara Sistemas) and some Leopards 2Es (two I think, they were built with license in Spain) they are a modification to the Leopard 2A6. Thats as far as I’ve researched into my own country (not much).
Hmm… yeah actually that doesnt sound too great. I thought theyd have at least 1 “12.0” MBT.
When I said a ton I meant that there are multiple versions of the ASCODs, some with 30mm guns, some others with 105mm guns and lastly one with a 120mm gun though I’m not aware on whether they have entered service or even exist.
Only thing they have is a Leopard 2A6, but I don’t know about Portugal. And a Leopard 2A4 it seems (more 2A4s yay).
Leopard 2A6 and M60A3 (retired recently if I’m not wrong) just like any other economic stagnated country…
Yep, quite the upgrade, huh. It seems the Leopard 2E has some more protection on the turret and better durabilty when it comes to its tracks, 2nd Gen thermals for both the gunner and commander, air conditioning (guess it’s because of the difference in temperatures on the north (colder) and the south (hotter), and an APU.
Because this isn’t Armored Warfare, combination trees have no place.
In this subject only the Leopard 2E, Centauro II and K-2 Black Panther seems to be the best options a Iberian-Latin american tech tree has to offer for a proper battle rating 12.0 line-up.
Well, there’s a lot of light vehicles to choose from, but considering we’re talking about a LATAM-IBERIAN combination the yes.
There is always the country of Biscay to add something for top tier :P
A lot of 30 mm Bushmaster to be fair, a weapon I deslike a lot. If we consider larger caliber light-medium tanks we can consider the TAM 2C-A2, Scorpion 90.
If we consider trailed vehicles in Latin america we can consider VT-4 for Colombia and Brazil, CV9030 and CV90120 for Brazil, I’m listing the most known obviously if you go deeper in national medias channels you can find more.
