I don’t know how to evade from an enemy on my six

Hello guys, I need your help on this: I don’t know how to evade from an enemy on my six. Let’s suppose that we have an enemy who’s flying a Bf-109 on our six distant 90 meters and we have a P-39N-0. How do we escape??

Thanks for reading.

Saw in another post that you are watching DEFYN vids to get better.

Basic element of ACM is situational awareness - so it doesn’t matter if an enemy is 90 or 900 meters behind you, the mistake was way earlier…

P-39N has a way higher rip speed than 109s in the BR range - and is way faster at 5 km or lower - you need to be aware of all enemies around you - and their relative and absolute positioning towards you.

So at 90 meters you might try a reversal vs a 109 F model - vs an 109E you need to dive out vertically until you get out of his gun range as the 109Es turns quite good…at 900 meters same but the key is always to keep your six clear…

I had some success with the old bomb trick as a novice, assuming you are carrying any.
Got a bogey on your tail ,go low over buildings or land and drop a bomb. The enemy behind gets the full force and bingo you get Aircraft destroyed. Maybe depends of fuse settings but is funny and can be useful.

Its a move of desperation and maybe more useful for GRB but it can work.

Uncle J Wick@live is a better source of flying knowledge than me.I play on X box with a controller and not even sure how I survive as long as I do but I just come up with any old trick I can throw in.Watch replays and pick them up.

I was greedily trying to finish off an attacker yesterday after giving him a few crits…

He was skimming the ground towards his target and I ended up right behind him mowing the lawn as well, chasing him down with tunnel vision. Next thing I know, I’m lobbied due to a 100lb bomb…

Lesson learned!

Thanks, very useful, but what do you mean by inversion, because when you start to turn either right or left the enemy plane will start shooting at me and will kill me. (I didn’t understand only this, because I understood the rest and it was all very clear, thanks again).

Yeah I know that trick (by DEFYN), the problem is that my plane can hold only one bomb and I often drop that ‘cause it let me slow. Anyway a single bomb would not be enough to destroy the enemy plane. I’ll consider your advice anyway, thank you😆😆.

Mhm, i wrote:

A reversal means that you force the enemy to overshoot - enemies don’t fall from the sky, so usually they dive at you - meaning they must be faster and they have access speed - the trick is to enforce overshooting and to get at their six. So the faster the enemy behind, the easier to dodge.

I am actually not sure that 90 meters is not a typo from your side - seriously, nobody gets that close due to the risk of crashing into the desired victim…

So if you are not extremely oblivious you might get away with a very sharp turn - this works best if you have some speed to dodge incoming fire and your enemy is much faster.

109Fs faster than 550 kmph are rather stiff, whilst most US planes have a rather good high speed mobility (not XP-50, it is the easiest way to kill them - make them extremely fast and enforce a high speed turnfight) and do not compress that hard.

Yeaaaaah sorry, my distraction error.

Right!!! It hadn’t occurred to me and I didn’t know the name, thank you very much.
Just out of curiosity, can I ask you what tier are you at?

I play props only - i play around 3.7-5.0, but mostly 4.0. For several years.

I have unlocked Top Tier in 3 nations, but i will never fly them. The higher you play, the more technical advantages decide, so the quality of your aircraft as a weapon system - and not your quality as a pilot.

Props = You are the weapon
Jets = You carry the weapon

Props and jets require different skill sets, but you knew that…
