I recently switched internet to wifi 7 and added ANOTHER repeater to my house to ensure that i don’t have latency or any other lag that might impact this.
I didn’t have much before, I don’t have now. Latency is 24 ms and wi-fi signal integrity in Ghz is -48 which is good.
Yet the packet loss 1 min into the game always happens. It’s the same thing, you spawn,30-1 min after you load in > packet loss > 60% loss for about 15 seconds . Then It stabilises to 0% and usually stays like that for 2 or 3 games before doing it all over again.
Its the same thing every other 2 or 3 games.
I honestly don’t know what i can do to upgrade infrastructure anymore. I used to think it was my fault, but , I’m going towards gaijin shit servers right now.
Wifi can be used for gaming it’s just less reliable and has more variables that can go wrong. Basically you need perfect conditions all the time.
Your neighbours wifi using the same frequency range, other connected devices, weird access points, location of access point, wall thickness literally dozens of pther factors which mix and match to make it unreliable.
Its not your wifi. Iam on wired ethernet and during peak gaming hours i also get the start of the match ping/pl% spike. Its also a newish experience, a few years back this never happened.
we also had 3 events run in parallel this December-January, which has caused rampant rubber banding/desync.
But that’s the thing. You don’t troubleshoot whether the PL is caused by the wifi by making stronger wifi. Lol. Even if you don’t want ethernet strung around the house, you can still buy a 15-60m cable to troubleshoot with.
I have played this game on wired, wifi and even mobile data in the past 2 months and had no such issue on any of those so I am inclined towards his infrastructure being out of wack.
Sure there were some matches with an ocasional PL spike for a couple seconds or match or 2 that just disconnected everyone. But what he is describing is way too much for it to rule out his wifi as the source of the issue.
