The Hunter AFV is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle developed by Singapore’s ST Kinetics and DSTA that entered service in 2019. Under development since 2006 to replace the M113 that has been in service since the 1970’s, in 2017 the Ministry of Defense awarded a contract to ST Kinectics for the production of Singapore’s Next Generation Armoured Fighting Vehicle (NGAFV). The Hunter IFV features technologies of other advanced IFV’s such as the Rafael Sampson Mk. II remote controlled turret armed with the 30mm Bushmaster II, Spike-LR ATGM’s, enhanced armor capable of stopping 30mm autocannon fire, Laser Warning System, a HMX3000 Hydro-mechanical Infinitely Variable Transmission capable of going forward and reverse at max speed, a 720hp power pack, and more. The digitized structure of the Hunter allows it to integrate with the Leopard 2SG, and the Bionix II IFV, allowing effective command and control. The Hunter’s light weight allows it to maneuver the urban terrain of Singapore and to meet its security needs. The Hunter is a revolutionary IFV that is expected to serve the Singaporean Army for years to come.

The Hunter IFV is a highly protected, heavily armed infantry fighting vehicle capable of reaching 70km/h in both forward and reverse. It is equipped with the latest technology that would allow it to surpass even the deadly Puma S1 and VCC-80 currently found in game. It would be effective of engaging targets from long range with its deadly Spike-LR ATGM’s and would be a sufficient multi-role vehicle.
With it’s capabilities, it would best be suited around battle rating 10.7 (realistic).
Looks good. If Gaijin decides against implementing it in some form of SEA tree, then I’m for adding it to Israel due to the turret and armament being Israeli.
is there any relationship between SG and Japan? Joint exercise? if so i would rather choose even china but not japan, besides, there’s UK as first choice
sure i would like to choose UK as first choice and china as the alternative options, if neither of them can receive subtree, SG’s vehicles may go to many countries
There really aren’t any connections, apart from the fact they are both Asian. Their historical relationship has also been rocky due to the Japanese occupation of Singapore during the War. There are other nations which are much closer to Japan, such as Thailand, which can be added to their tree, and they probably have a lot more to offer than Singapore does. Thailand has a much longer independent military history than Singapore, and thus has much more variation, which would definitely benefit the Japanese TT more.
The country has much more of a connection to the UK, but I understand that that may not be a feasible addition, given that South Africa is in the UK tree, and we’ve also suggested Oman.
Hence why I suggested that Singaporean vehicles should go to a Commonwealth tree, I think it would fit in better over there (Commonwealth meaning Australia, Canada and New Zealand)
For OP and Gaijin to know, the above images shown are one of the few armour packages available, here’s other pictures with a different and much thicker armour:
Edit: the images shown here also depicts a newer turret layout, where the old ones had vertical smoke arrangement on two sides, the Mk.2 turret utilises a 2x2 arrangement on both sides, and also a slightly newer version of the CITV.
It’s simply a matter that they currently have friendly relationships, are both more western aligned with equipment used, and as the one Russian dev stated, that the sub tree for Japan might be more regional rather than fixed to a single nation, so we might see nations like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand all come as a package.
Also, we should consider that Japan needs a subtree more than almost any nation in the game, especially more than the UK or China does
Any nation that has viable and desirable vehicles for War Thunder but not enough to justify an independent tree or any clear connection for a subtree:
Should have its vehicles added to any nation that needs a specific niche filled, with a much reduced criteria of connection like industrial cooperation.
