Hungarian Aircraft: The MÁVAG Héja I & II

FINALLY!!!

They promised Hungarian props would come “shortly” after Hungarian jets. I think that was more than a year ago, maybe even two

The gun is truly Hungarian and it’s scary 😦 it’s going to be basically a 50cal Mg 42 with explosive ammo. That’s where it gets you.

For those interested in vehicles from the 1st half of the 20th century, talk about them here!

Noice!!! Can’t wait to unlock them and then spade them… which unfortunately will be done quickly.

As an aircraft nerd that wants all airplanes spaded, I wish the high tier grind would be much lower in there to finish grinding those high tier planes out faster to return to WWII vehicles for way more fun than in the much less interesting high tier stuff (still interesting but nowhere near as interesting as WWII aircraft).

We need to reverse TTs, now top tier jets become reserves and you are grinding for biplanes at the top)

Exactly two years ago. Hungarian jets were the first update of 2024, Hungarian props will be first update of 2026.

This is the ammo for the 12.7 mm Gebauer 1940.M which is found on the Héja II, but not on the Héja I as it retains the original Italian Breda-SAFATs I believe.

The Americans designed the Seversky P-35, which the Italians sort of ‘copied’ into the Reggiane Re.2000, which the Hungarians further developed into the MÁVAG Héja II… and then used it to shoot down American (and probably Soviet) aircraft in the skies of Hungary.

No they didn’t - it looked similar because one of the Italian designers had visited the Seversky plant in the USA and took ideas and design philosophy from the P 35 - but there is no way you can consider the Re 2000 a “development” of the P-35

You mean Ho-Ni II right?

Also, there’s going to be more Hungarian WW2 planes this update.

I just noticed the markings on the Héja I model are those of István Horthy’s Héja I that he flew on the Eastern Front in 1942. István Horthy was the deputy regent of the Kingdom of Hungary, and son of regent (+admiral) Miklós Horthy, the ruler of the Kingdom of Hungary from 1920-1944, basically de facto king (since Hungary didn’t actually have a king at that time). They also did this with the battle pass Hungarian Bf 109 F-4, which had Dezső Szentgyörgyi’s markings. Dezső Szentgyörgyi was the top scoring Hungarian fighter ace of the war.

love that the Héja I & II are coming. though kinda surprised both r at rank I. i think due to the Héja II having a more powerful engine and motor driven guns i think it should be a rank II.

And for other Hungarian aircraft. im curious if the fw-190f-8 is coming.

any interest in a Hungarian cr 42? possibly at 2.0 or 2.3…

some of them had two 12.7 mm Gebauer 1940 M GKM Machine Gun that like the Héja II it was engine driven!
