it isnt about numbers, its about gaijin keeping all u.s vehicles nerfed and behind the russians tech tree. Using their fake numbers and made up " beliefs " M735 still not fixed , TOW 2B virtually useless, Hellfires still dont work correctly, stingers still not fixed Bradley still has none of its ERA, and still doesnt have its titanium roof, the HSTLV whatever it is because its not the vehicle that was made, the Apaches and basically over tiered, gaijin still wont give them the AP rounds to kill tanks , we are still on the A-10a with its terrible zoom rate , AGM 65d missing 40% of their penetration, F-15 without aim 120s meanwhile fighting planes 15 years ahead of it.
Because they don’t care about facts only “Beliefs” it doesnt matter what source you show them, it willl be declined and ignored.
It’s a common sense bro. We can spend whole day on it.
This should be a priority for researching official documents. Congressional reports, DoD statements, Field Manuals…
idk if its true but this guy who was a tanker talked about the Abrams here’s a link to the vid if you want to watch TikTok - Make Your Day
I believe him. That being said he is unfortunately not a acceptable source.
and this counter acts what redeffect said about the Abrams not having spall liner
Didn’t need him to show Red effect doesn’t know what he is talking about.( although i appreciate his time in making the video to counter act red.) Red Effects whole basis is a photo doesn’t show a soft interior. Spall liners don’t have to be soft fabric interiors. Look at Line-x and CAMAC as examples. He stated it isn’t exactly Kevlar makes me think maybe it is aramid?
Literally look at off-the-shelf steel body armor.
That spalls! And people need to not get hurt by that spalling. How do they do that?
Rubber-like coatings
(Also helps against corrosion, which would also be a nice bonus for Tank armor)
That might possibly be line-x coating it.
im fairly sure the HSTV l was actually a made.
I think he means the actual vehicle was quite different to what we have in game. Maybe not visually, but I think it had a faster reload and it’s apfsds could pen better. Hope this helps.
Hey mutts stop seething about the hull and get gaijin to fix the fucking turret ring. I’ve died to gepards more than I would like to admit. Oh and the engine fire issues would be good as well
This video presents the differences between the real life HSTV-L and the in-game implementation pretty neatly.
(Ignore the mechanical reliability/ecomomy aspects, those aren’t modeled in game for any vehicle)
ah yes the hstvl in game is an utter disgrace
oh yeah i know how much of a disgrace it is
I wouldn’t use steel plates with coating as an example, they actually spall pretty badly even with the coating, especially when struck with high velocity rounds (why I own ceramic/ why the military issues ceramic plates).
But I will say the Abrams armor is most comparable to how ceramic plates are set up I.E. multiple layers of different materials being more effective at catching the main projectile as well as any spall from it. Having been inside an abrams while I was serving I can tell you there’s no visible spall liner like the MRAPs had. This leads me to believe aramid and other materials are built into the armor package with a soft steel being the last layer that you see when inside the tank.
This is such a great video.
Props to this abrams tanker gentleman for speaking out and telling the truth.
Ofc this one guy cannot be taken as a source, and he even said: The tankers could prove gaijin wrong when it comes to the armor layout of the abrams, but then they would have to leak classified information which will grant them a (probably) lifetime one-way ticket to jail.
We have to work with declassified/publicly-available information to prove gaijin wrong.
It may have been posted already, I genuinely don’t know and attempts at skimming were giving up on quickly because this whole topic is filled with too much bickering to be worth the effort so I’ll just dump these here and maybe someone else can find an angle to dig from
There’s a lot of stuff specifically involving DU poisoning that may be worth digging through to see if there’s anything.

The NRC license that’s everyone is bickering about required the governemnt to prove it was safe and theres some tidbits there.
12 Million pounds of armor billets made as of 2000
DU Billets from Feed Materials Production Center were 16"x18"x2"
Said billets went to SMC who’d turn them into thje final armor and ship them to the plants
https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1988/03/15/tougher-tank-armor-developed-by-pentagon/82ced69e-60e6-4279-a31d-2ff9cae33e1f/
The mesh inserts arrives at the plant encased in steel.
We have a look into SMC’s facility from 1995 which also states 2600 DU armor packages made beteen '88 and '95
Does it really prove anything, probably not but maybe someone smarter or not dyslexic will go somewhere with this because god it hurts to reread documents constantly and seeings something different than what I saw the first time.
Maybe check if those exist somewhere?
I do not have the ability to properly parse research papers so I’m not even going to try.
Gaijin should just ditch authenticity altogether, everything past rank 6 is just fantasy numbers, we should start balancing with gameplay in mind.
