It is a possibility yes, but one of the logics they used here is that “there is no evidence of increase of protection because the weight increase is negligible.” And in the Sep V3 thats not the case, there is alot of weight increase, as we can see on the graphic they showed. Plus statements from official sources saying they increased hull armor and turret armor (I not sure about the turret). But yeah, we are at the mercy of gaijin here.
But that would be even more ambiguous unless we could show how they did it.
If there are I haven’t found them in my fun spelunking dives.
That’s the kicker. Even when we have proof and official documents, see Stinger nerf, they say “we don’t FEEL this to be true.”
It can be clear as day, official AF, and they won’t do it if they don’t want to.
Here in this same thread some guys posted book pages and documents stating 550mm of lfp kinetic protection, without stating anything related to materials used. I really dont want to dive in 880 posts in the middle of my shift but i can comeback later and link it.
That is why I advocate for a change!
Ty
Gaijin fucked up the UFP values for 11 top tier russian tanks thats why they dont think it can pen k-5 equipped tanks. The era is providing the correct armor bonus as a los. But the ufp composite is 100mm too thick. This is very easily provable.
They took the LOS protection from sources of the arrays and applied them as flat pen equivalents.
If this was fixed no russian hull at top tier would be strong except for relikt equipped ones. And this is how it should be.
I think my favorite part about that one is the fact there’s no mention of a suspension upgrade on the SEPv3 in that image and yet somehow Gaijin argues that the suspension can’t handle an improved density LFP in armor lmao.
Thats because gaijin is trying to use every excuse in the book to keep the armor gimped.
Yes, and that is the worst part about it. We needing to provide incontestable evidence about a classified vehicle, because they deemed the provided evidence not enough. I feel that there must be a way to collect the available evidence that you guys collected and present it on some way that they cannot refuse. But I cannot think how.
In game K-5 does reduce pen by 20% which is correct. Its that its 20% of m829a1s penetration at a ln obliquity of 68 degrees. Which is still correct.
140mm LOS or 120mm flat pen. 829a1 is 750mm at 68 and 600@0
And this 20% is the number provided by Nii Stali themselves.
And why are you showing numbers that doesn’t have anything to do with what i was talking about?
Because its technically already simulated. But against a percentage of a single projectile, not across all. And it being period correct also makes sense.
Edit: era tips just negate it pretty much entirely by reducing the shear force on the longrod.
I see what ur saying now. They could have the era turned off against those projectiles. Because their los pen isnt really that much higher.
I was talking at that point how could gaijin simulate a anti-era APFSDS in game, i never said anything about the era being wrong modeled in game. I fail to understand how your comment is relevant here.
Edit for your edit: yeah thats the thing, they could do it in a number of ways. They could completely negate the ERA if it is the case, and just refurbish the tandem-heat mechanic and put it on this ammunition, our could do something like: if round = anti-era Apfsds and point of contact = era, do X or Y.
They pretty much said “no values means no new armor” in the 2A7V section of the article.
So unless you have values for the SEPv3, don’t expect better armor.
Although that should be more than plenty based on gaijins blog they releases years ago on modern MBT armor calculations. Even going as far to say opensource and speculative sources are enough if they can reasonably aggregate the information
Their reply is pretty massive gaslight though. Because they assumed performance of stingers based on russian equipment but they cant make an estimate for an armor package that is KNOWN to be upgraded. Theyre a joke, honestly.
Just like how they sim tandem atgms albeit less pen value for the first stage
