Huge FPS drops in 4K. Looking for recommended settings

Hey guys (and girls),

I’ve got a question about War Thunder. What graphics settings are you using in 4K?

I’ve been struggling with FPS stability for quite a while now. I play in 4K on an RTX 4090, using DLSS Native, Ray Tracing turned off, and pretty much everything else set to max.

The FPS drops are insane — it can go from 220 down to 120 in a split second, depends on map. I know that FPS drops are normal in this game, but what really confuses me is how extreme they are — it can go from 240 down to 130 out of nowhere. This didn’t happen before, the FPS issues started quite recently, after the last few updates.

I’m playing on DX11, because DX12 gives me massive stuttering and isn’t playable at all.

What settings are you using to keep the framerate stable? It’s really frustrating how hard it is to achieve a consistent framerate in this game.

Maybe try turning down a few settings and see what that does (can’t help you more because i play on a toaster that can only “support” ULQ).
