Basic coax cable in WW2 was like 6mm to 10mm in diameter, making your cable weight already higher than that of the munition being used. Since copper wire is being used for transmission, the cable would need amplifiers built into it fairly frequently to boost the signal for the needed range. This is why copper cables could be used to send the required information for maneuvering, but not the actual TV feed with it.
