That’s kind of universal
all of the bug reports getting made are currently closed under ‘not a bug report’ so i wouldn’t count on it being passed to devs anytime soon
The issues team believes this is a suggestion rather than a bug, and it falls outside their scope of responsibility
:(
Should be added as a separate vehicle, this would be nice.
got told that myself. we could always see if smin could help get one through
How do you reckon you would control the gun ?
gaijin please give us gun vehicle and two launchers because 8 missiles kindaaaaaaaaa lacking
think 8 is bad the Eldenhet 98 only has 4
difference is that its being replaced by a multi vehicle system with 12 missiles and the hq11 is being added by itself with 8
doesnt change the fact it only has 4 missiles
if there was ever a vehicle that needed a rework it would be the Eldenhet 98…
adding the gun truck and a multi vehicle system to the hq11would make the hq11 more historically accurate and i dont think it would even be that difficult to implement because it seems like they use the same TA5450/TAS5450 chassis meaning they can copy and paste the hq11 truck, requiring gaijin to just replace the missiles with a gun and remove the radar
no sam system in the game has a CIWS nor do they need it.
its literally PART of the hq11 system. The buk didn’t NEED a radar vehicle because it can operate independently. What did they get? Radar vehicle and multi sam functionality. I dont see why china cant have multi sam and the gun truck
The performance of the EldE doesn’t really have anything to do with the HQ11 - both of them can deserve reworks at the same time.
It’s also important to note that the EldE is getting a replacement in the form of the NASAMS, which possess multiple missile types, as opposed to the HQ11 that only gets a single type of ARH missile, which basically just makes it an ARH TOR-M1 on wheels.
I agree that the EldE isn’t a great vehicle in any capacity, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with the HQ11 which is supposed to be competing with the likes of the BUK and the IRIS-T SLM and replacing the mediocre C5/SA5 as the Chinese tech tree’s best AA system.
your telling me the buk didnt need a radar vehicle lolol
A couple things about this:
The HQ11 is by name a universal terminal defence system, incorporating two vehicles - the FM-3000 launcher/radar vehicle which is in the dev server right now, and the LD-3000 CIWS. Afaik no other 12.7 AA in the game right now has both a launcher and a CIWS making up their systems, so it would make sense that the HQ11 as of right now should have the LD-3000 despite the fact that no other SPAA has one.
Another thing is that the HQ11 has only ARH missiles that work in the medium range, which perform well enough against aircraft, or as well as most other SPAA at the same BR. The issue here is that it can neither engage distant targets nor can it engage aircraft from close range or take down a sufficient number of guided munitions to compensate for the fact that it is a single vehicle. If you compare it to something like the SPYDER, iirc it has IR missiles that could be able to engage closer planes, altho the SPYDER is also a little weak when compared to the other 12.7 SPAAs. However, the SPYDER has the funny extending radar pole which I suppose is a small gimmick, when compared to the HQ11 which possess no short-range missiles. The other 12.7 missiles that lack the ability to engage closer targets all have multiple vehicles that at least somewhat mitigate the inability to engage closer targets.
This leaves the HQ11 in a rather poor state, lacking any sort of advantages over essentially any other 12.7 SPAA, and a CIWS would be able to at least to an extent level the playing field.
Yeah because by your standard if a nation’s sam system doesnt NEED something they dont get it
The HQ11 has a good radar and quick missile all in one vehicle it doesnt need another vehicle.
not my standard its gaijins
