Took me an hour to get all mine set up for my X.56, you can either auto-setup with the setup wizard, that’s if your HOTAS is in the setup wizard. If it’s not, you have to manually setup your controls, specifically through the controls area.

Also, you have to have them set to “relative control” for variable input instead of just 0-1 input. You can also select another thing, which when you, say your roll axis control, and use the physical roll right control or pull right on the stick, it will automatically set that as your roll control when saved.

Okay, before you change your control setup, do you have custom controller settings? If so, and you want to save them, you will want to save them with the “L2” to retrieve them after playing air with your HOTAS just hit your “R1” button.
Btw there is a preset and that’s how I made my air controls but used the preset for Heli nothing happened
You may have to set up your own helicopter controls for that system then.
When I use it only gives appropriate controls for air and everything else controller controls
