It’s not actually an APG-70 series radar though. It’s digital elements like radar modes and processing just share an 85% commonality rate. The actual power of the radar is still the AWG-9, which is double of peer radars on average. It also would immediately get the best IRST in the entire game to back that radar up. And with the possible new Air mode coming out that’s supposed to have bigger maps and objectives like strategic bombers, the range could be useful too.
I do the same with the 13.0 BR F-14B and I honestly don’t have trouble against them. Just don’t get too close. With the IRST this will be even easier, as I can send a Phoenix or AMRAAM at them and they won’t know until it’s pitbull. Gripen A and F-16As aren’t a threat unless you’re trying to dogfight them, which shouldn’t be happening as you’re faster than them and have every advantage in the book outside of 3km.
The F-15C vs GE is nothing like the F-14B vs F-14D. The F-15C already had an good radar. The F-14 does not, unrealistically.
Eh. The F-2 doesn’t have HMD but it’s still one of the best 13.7s. Like the Tomcat, it’s vertical ACM is serviceable. And the F-14D trades 2x IR for 4x ARH compared to it.

I don’t want an F-14 prime back. I’ve seen enough of reddit crying for a lifetime. What I do want though, is a competitive Tomcat to really kick off the legacy of it’s service. I know it won’t be the best, but I do want it to be playable.
I doubt it’ll have a big impact on performance if they didn’t even bother on making a performance manual for it separately. It’ll still handle like a Tomcat, especially for AirRB purposes.
Functionnaly in-game, itll likely get the same scan zones as the APG-70 and the range/power advantage is irrelevant in WT. So itll effectively be an APG-70.
For some reason, i doubt the IRST from the 1990’s stacks up to the IRST’s from the ones seen on newer jets, but even if you were right, IRST does nothing of value in air RB, and has niche use in SB.
They’re pretty comparatively similar tbh.
AWG-9 (PD HDN with bad scan angles) vs APG-71 (all aspect PD with mediocre scan angles)
APG-63 (avg scan zone mech scan radar) vs APG-63(V)3 (Best AESA in-game currently)
F-2 has a 14.3 FM, a 14.3 radar, and some of the best missiles in-game. You’re comparing apples to oranges. F-14D and F-2 arent even remotely close.

While it’s not quite the same comparison, it will undoubtedly become a missile carrier capable of operating many different types of missiles, much like IAF’s Su-30MKI. and just as the IRIAF’s F-14A was.
but what concerns me most is whether Helmet Mount Sight implementation is possible.

Then refer back to my statement about the German planes; they have been “removed” and are thus the exception, not the rule. The official max for the number of vehicles in a folder is four.

im pretty sure this would cause another boy cott honestly if they announced it as premium as you can see from over the 1000 votes its a very wanted aircraft if they made it premium A LOT of people would be mad
it be like if they locked the T80BVM current best model of T80 behind a pay wall with no other way to get it
locking the BEST version of the F14 behind a pay wall would be insane of them to do
also if any F14 is gonna be premium it will likely Be a F401 A model or a F14A LATE

That would be insane. To put this in perspective, we have 4 Premium US Naval aircraft already. We have the Hornet C Early, The A6 Tram, The F-4S Phantom, and the AV-8B(NA) Harrier. That’s already a ton. So if they add the F-14D, thats 5 perfectly normal vehicles they could’ve added to TT.
That’s also 5 more reasons for me to stop playing this game for good if the F-14D is a premium. There’s so many better slots for premiums. They could add the F-16XL, the F-16C Block 30 with a thunderbirds skin, an F-15A with AMRAAMs and BOL, literally anything but the Pinnacle of US Navy fighter design.

If the F-14D is premium and equipped with AMRAAMs, SPAMRAAMER will proliferate like hell, and I’ll never touch the US Navy aircraft tech tree again.
What about the F-14A Late? That’s the one with the VF-84 Jolly Rogers high-visibility skin.
