- On the deck, better STR, loses in ITR. At alt, pretty sure the F-15E beats it in every way in-game, but the F/A-18C is worse simply due to being slow.
- F-15E has the speed and accel advantage in all regimes.
FM-wise, id say its a toss-up between the 3, all 3 have their pros and cons, but the 14B is a contender in that regard.
Sorta, but not really. APG-71 is just gonna be a copy paste APG-70. They might give it more range which will have literally 0 use in WT, thats about it, and the APG-65 does just fine as well. Id say its technically true but functionally irrelevant.

Either way, thats why I said “sidegrade/downgrade” to the F/A-18C (shouldve added F-15E to that tbf), cuz its mostly just a sidegrade in every respect, and a downgrade when lack of HMD is considered.
Not really, itd be fighting the J-11A/Su-30MK2 with 6x assorted 27ER/ET or RVV-AE’s + 4xR-73 WITH HMD. Would also be fighting stuff like JAS-39A (no fox 3, but delta duck FM + HMD), and F-16A variants (6x AMRAAMs but vastly superior FM). Fits in just right with the other twin engine 4th gen jets, trades off better avionics for no HMD basically.
You’re vastly overstating how big a deal the F-14D is compared to the F-14B in WT. The avionics and sensors will be better, but it’ll still be otherwise the same jet. You can just look at the F-15C vs the F-15CGE for a look at what that looks like. F-15C is 13.7, F-15CGE is 14.3 (with a bunch of ppl saying it shouldnt be a 14.3).
Theres also the compression issue to consider, with the difference between 13.0 (gen 3.5 jets with fox 3’s or gen 4 with bad fox 3’s) and 13.3 (4th gen with fox 3’s and/or HMD) being signficantly larger than the difference between the next few steps
- 13.7 have good fox 3 + HMD + working avionics (13.3 lack 1 of the 3 components, which is exactly what an AMRAAM armed F-14D is)
- 14.0 are 13.7’s with slightly better FM’s
- 14.3 are 14.0 but have either vastly better avionics or vastly better FM’s (except the Rafale, which is a 15.3 waiting for gaijin to stop sucking the french mains off)
13.3 is where the F-14D belongs imo, pretty much regardless of getting 8x AMRAAMs or not. 6-8x AMRAAMs will mean itll be a competitive 13.3, no AMRAAM’s will mean itll be a bottom of the barrel 13.3. Could make a case it belongs at 13.7 with 8x AMRAAM’s, but the lack of HMD is killing it at that point imo.
New cockpit and better radar will be quite nice for sim, but its a pretty small playerbase, and at 13.7 itd only be worth playing 1/4 of the time when 13.7 is top tier. Otherwise it will get violated by all the 14.3 jets.
This isnt gonna be modelled. They’ll copy paste the F-14B FM and then tell you to kick rocks anytime you try to bug report it. Thats been their MO with the F-14 ever since the jet was added to the game.
I love the F-14, but lets be realistic. Its well past its prime in-game, and gaijins track record of abject hatred for the jet aint doing it any favours either. 13.3 premium is almost guaranteed what it’ll be, and they probs still wont give it AMRAAM’s or the Rafale treatment of getting an HMD it shouldnt have.
