Hello guys. Im a ground player and its been a while since i’ve entered a BR where you start to encounter helicopters in battles. and i’m exited to start working with them but the problem is that i have literally zero idea how to work with helicopters. the controls, specially weaponary controls confuses me like hell. surprisingly, youtube doesn’t help either. i couldn’t find a video where everything is explained from scratch.
so can one of you guys who has exprience donate me some of their time and explain to me from scratch how the hell does a helicopter work? (in the context of ground battles) thank you.
Lets see… First off learning to fly takes lots of practice. You’ve just got to get a “feel of it” and figuring out the Gaijin fisuks they use and what you can get away with.
Throttle is “automatic”, your “throttle” is really the collective, or how much lift your rotor blades are providing. Increase makes you go up or forward faster, decrease the opposite. You change your forward/backward speed with the angle of the helicopter. Lean forward to go forward the more you do the more you go.
Hover is like an autopilot, it automates holding a position and vertical motion until you change it by inputting the above to go or change altitude.
Weapons are there own complication and varies from heli to heli. Some let you shoot from 3rd person, others require gunner’s view.
You just have to find control keybinds that suits you, preferably familiar with in air, are you a “W for down” player or the opposite? I am a “W for up” in planes, but the opposite in helis because I prefer it to pitch down, which makes it go up and forward. I’m sure that made no sense at all, lol. But like I said, you’ve just got to fool with it until you find something that works for you.
Play the helicopter PVE battles. Not only will you work on RP mods and SL, it gives you up to 3 hours to just fly around and shoot at things.
Hope that helps.
