For some reason, when I’m in ACM or HMD mode, my keybind to turn off radar no longer works. I have to first exit those modes. I don’t understand why it shouldn’t work, but can anyone tell me if there’s a way to turn off the radar in that mode with just one keybind? Thanks.
Locking while in ACM turns the radar off, unless they changed it in the last few days.
That’s what I’m used to, but it doesn’t seem to be the case if you have both ACM and HMD. Then, ACM flips to HMD when I try to lock. From that point on, HMD doesn’t turn off if you fail to lock a target. I’ve encountered the problem with every jet that has ACM and HMD.
I just tested it a bit further, and find that you can turn off the radar when you’re in ACM mode, but then you can’t turn it back on with the radar on/off keybind. You instead have to turn it back on by switching the “RADAR/IRST beyond/within visual range combat.” It’s really weird.
Weird, maybe it’s something with your controls. Can you screenshot all controls related to radar?
Hitting R in ACM should turn the radar off and hitting it again will bring you back to ACM. Does this not work anymore?
It works if you don’t also have HMD (HMS.) With HMD, hitting R switches you from ACM to HMD mode. Once in HMD mode, you can’t turn off radar without first exiting HMD mode.
Weird, it might be a bug or change they did. It used to work for planes that have HMS as well.
Hitting lock (R) from ACM turns it off, beyond/withing visual range turns it back on to ACM. Try this.
Def not how it used to work, but you can turn your radar in ACM.
