So im tryin to complete the “Kraken” achievement
Basically sink 5 carriers, my main problem is, I don’t have precision munitions
Im lookin for solutions below rank V, the smaller the plane, the better.
Because I don’t want to play the PB4Y and spam the seamines in the path of the carrier.
I’ve come close with the IL-4 because I nailed a boiler with the AP bombs, but severes don’t count and I nailed carriers with my Ki-67’s torpedoes a lot of times but it made even less of a difference, i’ve tried 1 and 4 meter depth strokes and still couldn’t nail a carrier to the seafloor.
Im thinkin of the FX 1400, but the he-111 is a horrible platform, so i’ll wait if any of you have a better solution.
I see from time to time carrier kills with props - mainly by Thai SB2Cs on Pacific maps. The main challenge is imho that the carriers die quite often with a rather long delay due to their damage model.
The last instant kill i witnessed was a G5N1 going on New Guinea map…
Carrier tanked a FX 1400 to the boiler and propeller shaft.

I sunk a carrier with a x8 sea mine loadout on the PB4Y, and died to AA fire
Progress did not advance at all
I think either the achievement is broken, or I am missing a requirement for it
Use big bombs equal or more than 2500kg (he111 2500kg, pe8 5000kg, lancaster 12000lb). Usually 1 dropped near its enough, or you could also try torpedoes.

Have you considered trying naval arcade? a few of the open water conquest maps have multiple carriers and in arcade mode you bombs reload so you can hit them repeatedly. I think you can get up tiered into them from about 4.7.

The carriers are tanky as hell. I only ever sunk 1 and it took 3-4 full loads on the vautour.
