Err…rank 2 russia are actually straightforward to play. T34s and KV1s are strong vehicles in game, with good armor and adequate guns.
You just need to apply the “standard rules”
- Use cover and dont rush (so you dont get hit)
- Play with the team (so they help you live longer)
- Learn aiming and weakspots (so you can kill faster)
- Research better ammo when you can (T34s have so-so stock ammo)
I have been at this for long now…and it is not as easy as i make it…but there is no particular “weakness” in Rank2 russian vehicles. Perhaps some care with gun depression (avoid hilly places) and some vehicles may have a long reload…but if you keep to T34s and KV1 you have a strong lineup.
(ANY NATION will struggle in uptiers…but 3.7 is usually a good BR to play russia)

Russian tanks are pretty good in general. Most of them will share the same gun for a while but the ammo make up for it. Knowing enemy weakspot is very important since your penetration fall behind other nations. Their armor is generally pretty good but don’t count on it. Especially at br 8 and higher. Be aware of your surrounding and use covers. Or you can play like me and charge like an idiot and somehow survive.
At lower tier before 8.0 you can play them however you like. But at 8.0 and higher you should play more defensive.
