EDIT: I watched a tutorial, it said to go to Documents\MyGames\WarThunder\Saves\production\UserSights

AND THEN. BOOM. I DONT HAVE A SAVES FOLDER. ACTUALLY, I DONT HAVE ANY OF THESE FOLDERS MENTIONED. WHAT THE F-

btw i guess this is where i am
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\WarThunder

you have to make a new folder mate, thats the same for user skins and user missions

I did create a UserSights folder, IT DIDNT WORK.

UserSight folders has been changed for both War Thunder Launcher and Steam, it’s located at \Documents\My Games\WarThunder\Saves\179556661\production\UserSights. Note 179556661 is your War Thunder ID.

as @Константинович7 pointed out that tutorial is outdated, here is one post the directory change:

also if you create a sight using the default options and save it it should create the “UserSights” folder (as it holds the “tank_sight_presets” folder that saves your configurations)

I don’t play through steam and the sight directory is the same, at least on windows OS, I cannot speak to other OS.

This thread is the epitome of me not trying hard enough. I found it, I just was not expecting it to be placed in the documents directory instead of the AppData\Local\WarThunder spot where literally everything else is

which is the logical place for it to be and it’s been there for YEARS without causing issues… It’s completely beyond me why they felt the need to change it. I suppose they must of been some backend issue with it and the new custom sight system, but it would be nice if they just told us that.

I’m guessing that they don’t want custom content saved in the main game install path as that might increase the risk of buggs and issues. It would make sense if that is also the reason that they are working on the sound mods at the moment as well. Probably also makes it easier to troubleshoot things on the bug report site if everyone’s main install folder contain the same files (except for replays/logs).

Just guesses though.
