Hello!
It sometimes feels to me like Community Managers no longer experience the game in the same way that the player base does. Do you and your colleagues actually face the same frustrations that many of us encounter daily?
I understand that developers may not have the time to play the game as much as the community does, and that Community Managers are responsible for passing our feedback to them. However, from a player’s perspective, it often feels like the same problems are discussed for months, yet very little changes.
Every day, you and your colleagues read bug reports, complaints, and feedback from the community. But I rarely see your personal perspective on some of the biggest problems players talk about. Have you ever experienced things like the BMPT when it was first introduced, or the frustration caused by excessive top-tier CAS? Do you ever get the feeling that something in War Thunder’s balance is not quite right?
I love this game. It has taught me a lot about history and military technology, sparked interests I never expected to have, and even helped me discover what I would like to do in the future.
I don’t write this because I hate the game. I write it because I care about it and want to see it improve.
Selective copy and paste
That is better than locking unique vehicles behind a paywall like they did with the EBRs and other vehicles. Locking stuff like the Fw-189, Pucara, F-14D, or every single unique domestic Finnish aircraft behind a paywall is objectively bad.
Highly depends on your own personal definition. Mine is, if a vehicle doesn’t have any meaningful differences from the one it is based on/most similar to, then it’s copy/paste. This makes most Magachs not copy/paste, but something like the Dutch Leopards or the new F-16 in the French tree copy/paste.
I agree.
Fire & Ice added 5 unique Finnish vehicles into War Thunder.
T-26E, Leopard 2A6NL [later fixed to Finland], T-72M1, Vickers MkE, BT-42.
& currently Finland is half to majority unique vehicles.
Sweden remains the only tech tree with that specific T-72M1.
& Italy got the German T-72M1 for its tech tree as a Hungarian one.

Okay, we seem to have a deferent definition of copy and paste.
To me if there isn’t a major difference with the vehicle, its copy paste.
For me, the only non copy paste vehicles would be the vickers tank and the BT 42.
depends on your definition again.
Also does not change much when the original statement of yours refers to updates, not the state of the game.
But if you have a different definition of copy and paste a discussion about this might be senseless.
Y’know, if historical MM (axis vs allies) came back I wouldn’t mind most of your suggestion threads about lend lease.
Yeah yeah, I meant the Historical MM of realistic.
Nations that fought next to each other should never face one another.
There are problems with opposing nations being in the same TT ofc (ROC and PROC), Sweden and Finland (Sweden was neutral while Finland saw action in WW)
Or simply Germany after being split.

Oh you mean teamkill simulator because that is all it is when I play it, spawn in, get teamkilled, level repeat. I will never touch sim again. We need realistic matchmaking in tank rb.
Just T+4+2 bro

You’re absolutely right about community power, but there’s a gap worth acknowledging. These conversations have been happening in closed squadron Discord servers for years, discussed seriously among veteran players. The problem is: most people actually buying premium content are new players who don’t read forums, don’t watch creator videos, and don’t know about the economy drama or copy-paste patterns.
Meanwhile, War Thunder’s publicity campaigns online have gotten increasingly aggressive. New players see flashy ads for cool vehicles, buy them, never see the critical discussion, and get overwhelmed for a month after rage quitting because they don’t understand the game mechanics. They fund the slop then leave before they’d ever learn why it’s a problem.
This doesn’t excuse Gaijin’s choices, but it does explain why the wallet signal gets mixed. The people seeing the criticism aren’t always the people spending. That’s a harder problem to solve than just “buy quality, don’t buy slop.” Gaijin has built a system that profits from player churn, not retention
Spoiler
ignoring imightbmantis needing attention and killing completely the topic by simply tellin people to essentially be sent to the super broken mode of simulator
gaijin speaks in money, which means the wallet and where one opens it will determine how the game goes, gaijin neglects WW2 suggestions or balance because premium on those part don’t make as much profit as those 70$ scams at the store front.
Let’s look at the french yak-3, it was very common and was very abused wasn’t it? It sells for 1600 eagles or $8.58 converted.
how many frenchies you need to sell to surpass 1 top tier (oh sorry, not top tier since it is 1 BR step below it whoops!) premium sale
Well the preorder F-14D is $79.99, the fattest price of all and the lowest price for a preorder currently is the J22 and M60 preorders at $59.99.
now do basic math and look how much work the yak-3 needs to make in order to surpass the sale of 1 pack/preorder.
Which of these you actually see more in-battle? There stupid packs with the price of AAA titles are only working because 3-4 people who eat them up nullify the opinion of 28-37 people who went for the yak-3.
I’m pretty sure this is an AI summary of the video made by thecodbyman. But I do agree with it.
I am presonally not spending another cent on the game until it improves
It is the only way chance can happen
you can spend money, just not on bulls-

Its like training a dog, give it the treat when it behaves well.
If you never give treats it will never learn.
If you give it too much threats, even when misbehaving, it will go downhill.
I was going to buy the chinsese su30 on sale but after seeing what’s going on recently…
The final nail in the coffin was the removal of helicopter MITL which means that russia is still going to dominate top tier
