Usually when i shoot amrams the go straight and dont have a good chance at hitting, but lately i found a way to make them go up and track WAY better. Why and how does it happen.

what range and altitude do you normally fire them at
10,000 and past mach
If you aim for someone below you it doesn’t loft as it is already above the target and needs to start aiming down to have it within the seekers gimbal-limits and start cutting the target of. You can sort of force them to go more up by angling the plane up but that mostly bleeds energy because it’s going to try to turn down to go for the target.
Think of the missile aiming for where the target will be when they meet, so a target below you flying at you will be almost straight below you when the missile gets there.
10km or 10kft ?
