So I Just Started Playing Warthunder for a while, and im now at 6.0 br but i still wonder how to get better, since if there’s kdr rating my kdr is under 0.5,can someone help me? im pretty lost
Arcade or realistic? It’s pretty easy to up your KD part, just use a vehicle with good turret armor and camp hull down, if that’s what satisfy you.
realistic, mostly i go with 0 kills till the end of match
Play with friends, know your map, pay attention to your surroundings. Realistic is annoying at times with some things, but it could be worse.
0 kill 2 deaths towards the end is pretty normal, even my best tank with 4+KD go through something like this from time to time. My advice would be a lot of binocular which will help you see better, and avoid going to places where you can be shot at more than one direction, if KD is the only thing you tryna improve, maybe avoid objective points since it just tell enemy CAS hey I’m right here shoot me. What nation you play and which tank? More details means some of us can actually tell you the vehicle strong point and how to play them to improve KD.
well i play germany,and i have tiger e rn
Since you’re new I’ll start with this: Game Masters don’t have this title because we know more about the game, we just handle in-game chat and name bans so don’t take my word as gospel here :P
My personal biggest tips are:
Don’t focus to much on “statistics”, wanting to improve is natural but don’t get stuck on numbers. Try to improve to have more fun as an end goal instead :)
Play slow and defensively. If you’re first around a corner or over a hill you’re very likely to just get shot by the enemy that is camping it.
Map knowledge is likely the biggest advantage you can have in the game overall. Look at where your teammates are driving and which ones survive the direction they chose, then next match try to go that same way and see how it goes :)
Don’t bring full ammo, like ever. You almost never shoot more than 15-20 rounds in a match anyway and if you do you have likely also pushed forward quite a lot and can reload at a capture point. All the extra ammo does is create a bigger target inside your tank that is an instant kill for the enemy.
In addition to this, never rely on your armor to save you, look at armor as a secondary backup. The best armor you can have is never getting shot at in the first place :P
Learn weakspots, look at the protection analysis in the hangar (click the little tank symbol to the top left, go to the “armor” tab and then protection analysis. this will let you shoot practice shoots with whichever tank you want at the tank you are currently viewing in the hangar) and try to figure out where to aim for the highest chance of penetration. This is in most cases (exceptions exist) the viewports, turret ring, front belly, center side and lastly (oddly enough) if the enemy is slightly diagonal to you: shoot at the front of the track or the furthest forward “cogwheel” that drives the track (called sprocket), almost all tanks in the game can be penetrated in that spot. If you’re ever in doubt then shoot their barrel or breach so that they cant shoot back and then figure it out from there.
A lot of the game is built around “lineups”, as in; having several tanks of the same BR when going into a match. When you queue for a match you automatically queue for a match at (or around) the BR of the highest BR tank in your lineup, if the rest of your tanks are 2-3 BR’s lower than that they are going to struggle quite a bit with the tanks they face. I know it’s hard but don’t instantly add that new shiny higher BR tank you just unlocked to your lineup, wait until you have unlocked like 3-4 or them than switch several at once so that more of your tanks are at the new BR you are going to be matched with. Aim to have almost all of the tanks you bring at the same BR or 0.3 lower, one or two 0.7 lower might also work sometimes depending on what BR you are playing at.
To me, it looks as if you are rapidly rushing down the tree.
it is i guess
Your new, just have to keep playing and playing in order to memorize weak spots of tanks and so on. Don’t worry about K/D. We can tell you what to do but to put them in action is the difficult part. Instead learn the map, explore the map, play around with the armor protection analysis.
Gonna use Tiger tank since your playing Germany.
Example: Chinese IS-2, it may show 100mm of armor but when they are facing you, aim directly at it to 1 shot it using the Tiger H1 PzGr APCBC round. If its not and slightly angled, aim for the Cupola (the big hatch on top of its head) to take out the gunner/commander. If not, shoot the barrel, the tracks to stop it from moving etc…
Just play around with it to find weak spots. Also, use your team as bait, don’t go straight into action and be patient. Not all youtubers are great to learn from, but spookston is one you can rely on for tank gameplay and learn from. Watching youtube really helps a lot if your starting out.
First of all, to give an impression on who i am, i am one of the “old” game vets, that play this game like many since years. Only difference is that im in the few top % for GRB for some reason.
I know its a hard pill, but first of all, if you want tips, first one will be to play a different Nation then Germany.
Reason, the tanks are subpar to the other Nations at most BRs. So u not doing great with them is not really an “you” issue:
If i would get asked to what nation to play first, i say China. They have a mix of UDSSR and USA stuff, giving you an idea on how these Tanks work and ultimativly how to defeat them.
Second advice: Play more then one Nation at the same time, you get a ton better if you have also played the enemy Tank and know what they can and can´t do. Its that simple. I think its also just general more fun to being able to play tanks with different playstyle and streghts from time to time.
Third advice: Build your Deck properly, having unlocked a tiger 2 dosnt help you if you have nothing with you to back it up. Stay on your BR till you have a solit Deck for the newer BR. (or have enogh tbackup tokens)
Fourth advice: never throw a match. Leaving a match hurts everyone and also you. Especially when most people have thrown a match the enemy gets lightfoodet and will do dumb stuff, being patience and keep respawning and you likely end automaticly in the top 5 of your team, giving you the win or atleast a ton of RP.
Fifth advice: Check the clock and server you are on, if you have a ping of 100, thats not good. If you have packet loss, also very bad, and if you play at primetime (7pm CEST) the people tend to YOLO alot on some BRs, they just rush you, kill you, and then they die. Not really fun to play against or with these guys. As with them its not really about winning or losing as a team, they just care about braindead grinding. Rushing till they die and going into the next battle… thats what they do. Try to avoit them.
Ultimately, what made me better at the game was definitly to play all Nations. Thats i think the key to getting good the “fast” way. (grind will take forever, but hightier is not really playing a game anymore, atleast if u ask me, In hightier people tend to play only for the Grind, which is not really fun and battles dont evolve a dynamic, CAS makes this issue even bigger)
if you are rushing down one tree, try the other ones, they will give you a break and you’ll learn how other nations play compared to your current tree, since every nation has a tanks with different gameplay.
