naval. In a good match (at least in arcade) completely vanilla no boosters or premium time or premium ship, you can get like 70-90k easily and MUCH more with premium ships, boosters, and premium time. Even decent matches, win or not, i can get like 40k or so in 6.0 cruisers

you can farm event vehicle special coupons (for selling) and you can also sell the event boxes, these are not sold for much in comparison to event vehicles but thats a way of getting gjcoins and golden lions for free
one event vehicle sold and you can get months of premium time specially if theres a discount
Premium planes seem to be super good at it, mainly the early jets have some of the highest nonship silver multipliers in the game. In decent games with swiss p16 I make 70-115,000. Go fight and then after most people have died run back and get fire bombs and hit bases, while also destroying ai planes which give lots of money.
Otherwise if you don’t want to pay for a premium just find a plane around this rating that’s super meta
Best advice I can give you is play your best lineup, you mentioned that you had a good lineup at 5.3 and got a lot of kills. That’s a very good area to be, where you make lots of SL and repair/ purchasing costs are lower. I personally am getting extremely close to finishing my squadron research for the M1A1 AIM, which coupled with crew training costs is around 1.5 million SL. Around 2 weeks ago I had around 200K SL, when I deployed one of my best lineups, my Swedish SAV 120, Pz IV, T-34 and M-24DK. 2 weeks later, just last night, I hit 800K SL. It is possible to make SL quickly, just pick what lineup your best at, and start farming.
Edit: I did some more farming and am now at roughly 950K SL
Skip the vehicle-specific recommendations. The real issue isn’t which tank you play. it’s that you’re chasing meta suggestions instead of finding your own playstyle first.
Pick 2-3 vehicles at the same BR that appeal to you. Play them repeatedly until you understand their strengths and can exploit them consistently. Ignore what others say is “good”. Play what works for you. Once you’re synced with a vehicle, your performance (kills, assists, caps) will naturally improve, and SL follows.
The secondary point: stop treating the grind as the goal. Focus on capping points and getting kills without dying. Win or lose, if you played well, you made progress. This shifts your mindset from “I need to win for SL” to “I’m going to play well,” and that’s where consistent income actually comes from.
Practical stuff: don’t rely on a single premium tanks. Keep 2+ vehicles in the lineup at the same BR so you’re not grinding one specific line. Wait for sales rather than buying at full price. I have 19.2M SL with no premium account. The key is patience and enjoying what you’re playing, not Gaijin’s monetization.
thanks!
Just buy SL for GE.

Don’t listen to him. Don’t waste GE on SL!
You are supporting monetiation like Mike_Vas said.
bro If I had golden eagles i buy with them a premium tank or premium time
Yeah but why people buy premium vehicles and premium time? To farm SL.
So it is much easier just to buy SL straight for GE.
0/10 ragebait
Also, the best way to grind SL is a decent premium naval ship like a moffet or something

4 man squads playing premium vehicles. Using a best squad or battle victory wager and using Anti mech in game.
Play costal then hop back into ground/air battles.
Use the down time to have stuff repair for free.
At which BR ? And which type of naval ?
Also, unrelated question, I have ~1400GE, what’s the best way to spend it, premium time ? (or should I wait to earn more ? (I sometimes earn ge with the screenshot competition))
I would buy a top-tier premium blue water fleet if I were you. The premium vehicle is permanent. And since it a top tier premium you can grind the entire naval TT very fast. I will recommend you to earn more GE first.
