How to fly defensively with USSR planes? BR 2.0 - 2.3

I always try and go for the altitude advantage but when I engage in dogfights I always get out turned and shot down, even when its a P36, I try to do reversals but fail miserably, any way I can improve? I mainly fly the I-16 type 5, I-15-3 M-62 Chaika, Mig 3-15

You should watch some of Defyn’s tutorials on YouTube. He explains the techniques very well. Learn the strengths and weaknesses of your plane and the enemy’s plane.

Even then, you are new, you are still gonna get your behind slapped, don’t be discouraged :/
