How to Evade FOX-3 Radar Missiles

treetop, aka: you are flying in between the trees

With the relative brick that is the F-4, I think that is a worse decision compared to the options this video provided. You’d be more focused on not hitting the ground compared to firing at enemies.

The J, EJ Kai, ICE, FG.1, FGR.2, and Kurnass 2000

Me trying to figure out how to keep 6 missiles all from different directions at my 3 or 9

This should have been released alongside the new missiles tbh

their unwillingness to learn to play it properly.

You mean the game’s failure to inform people how to play properly? Unless you can point me to where in the game it explains multi-pathing, notching or the difference between flares and chaff.

It’s pretty easy if you don’t fly into a furball in the middle of the map

People have been informed and the reactions have still been “too hard, I want my safety blanket again so that I don’t have to think about all that boring stuff, I just want to rush head on into a ground-level furball, get a kill or two and die”.

Where exactly have people been informed?

Too hard for some, too crap for the others. Top tier is braindead more than ever and the stock grinds are dog and unenjoyable, with or without multipath changes.
Zero dogfights, just people cycling missiles like bots.
but muh ruhlism. Ye but this is a game. But muh gib everyune all stock missils. Then what even grind for.
(Also the irony is it now you do say that people have been informed but when the community voting was on you were crapping all over everyone and blaming the illiteracy, take offense or dont)

Multiple War Thunder Forum topics and comments on several posts, numerous YouTube tutorials and shorts, countless Reddit posts, etc; and virtually everywhere and every time the topic has been brought up.

Most of the people opposing the multipathing change don’t do so because they don’t know or understand what it is; but because they just want to play their 2000s Gen 3.5 jet fighters like WW2/Korean war planes and want the game to adapt to that possibility, instead of acknowledging that air combat evolved and changed on its latest generation iterations.

Just look at this very comment section. It’s not about lack of knowledge, it’s about wanting War Thunder to be Ace Combat 2.0.

The only braindead Top Tier was the one where everyone just rushed head-on into a kamikaze furball at ground level to get a kill or two by spamming IRCCMs before dying to another IRCCM and finishing the match within 3 minutes after having spawned… which is what apparently what those opposing the multipathing change want it to boil down to once again.

In fact, most 16v16 matches are still like this. Only a few bother to actually try to climb, sideclimb, or do any kind of inkling of maneuvering and tactical combat instead of rushing head-on into a kamikaze furball.

The only difference is that, now, people who want to play supersonic 21st century jet fighters have the opportunity to do so.

Of course, those in the furball get killed off an, instead of thinking they may be doing something wrong, they find it easier to blame the game and demand it to change to cater their apparent need to turn War Thunder into Ace Combat 2.0.

Okay, so nowhere in the game has this been explained, people are expected to go online and figure this out.
Even the tutorial for the radar missile doesn’t work.

Well, the official media is now here and it takes literally 10 minutes of a player’s time.

That would be leaving aside that one would expect most people who are playing 13.0 to know some radar basics by the time they get to 13.0, of course, but I won’t go down that road.

And not to mention that multipathing STILL exists- it’s just that people now actually have to put in effort to fly low instead of having a safety blanket over flying minimally, remotely close to the ground.

Only took them like 2 years to make a basic video on the matter.

If they know basics it is purely due to their own research and not the game, there isn’t even a tutorial for it.

Yeah, fly below 50m when trees are 80 meter.

Your interpretation of a dogfight may not be my interpretation ( or rather, good players’ Interpretation) of a dogfight. A furball forms when an uneven number of parties focus on one or two subjects and things become slow and tightly packed. That’s not really the full meaning of a dogfight.
16v16 could’ve worked if given a proper chance and implementation. Instead we go from point A to point B in straight lines and nothing else
A dogfight isn’t just one guy turning after the other, it’s also disengaging from a knife fight and defeating your oh so dreaded IRCCM missiles and engaging the next guy. What we have is sensory overload and clicking single buttons with little brain activity. Butuhh dodging take skill; no it doesn’t just go 3-9. Insert the instant rtb as soon as you’re out of missiles too and no wonder people forget they have a gun.
Geez how uninformed smh my head

I don’t get it.

You sound like those who want to play Leopard 2A7V or T-90M while asking to remove Thermals, Laser Rangefinders and even top performance APFSDS shells from the game because “they make Top Tier boring because it’s just clicking buttons with little brain activity”.

Top Tier ground has auto-adjusting laser rangefinders, shells capable of penetrating more than half a meter of steel and thermals that allow you to see with clarity in any conditions, and Top Tier air has smart, automated missiles with extreme flight and targeting capabilities.

Vehicles from the 1990s and 2000s are just drastically more advanced than 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and even 1970s vehicles. It’s just warfare evolution.

If you want Top Tier vehicles to play like lower tier vehicles because you find the Top Tier mechanics to be “boring low-skill ones” because they provide increased automatised capabilities, maybe Top Tier and modern warfare just aren’t for you.

No need, you won’t. Because all you know is top tier.
Why yes, vehicles did get more advanced but that doesn’t justify nor explain the smoothbrain gameplay in the game at top tier now.
I’m not implying we need removal of things however adjustments can be done to negate both powercreep and improve the experience while actually making people engage their brain and maybe use things they used at reserve tier props ( if they did, skill issue)
(And no, removing mods and giving stock amramms like the free abrams meme isn’t gonna help, let people grind but let them grind smart and in a fun way, an earnable one at least)

It appears you really dislike the implications of Fox-3, modern weapons and radars and their capabilities.

Therefore, here’s a list of BRs you can play without any of those:

1.0
1.3
1.7
2.0
2.3
2.7
3.0
3.3
3.7
4.0
4.3

8.0
8.3
8.7
9.0
9.3
9.7
10.0
10.3
10.7
11.0

11.3-13.0 is the only BR range where these dreaded features are present. As I said, maybe it’s just not your cup of tea, and there’s nothing wrong with it. You have 31 other BRs you can play without having to think about Fox-3.

To you, “improving the experience” may be to nerf the capabilities of 2000s jet fighters so that they aren’t that much different from the 1970s ones. But, to many of us, “improving the experience” is making 2000s air combat feel like 2000s air combat and not just a reskinned Vietnam-era combat with modern aesthetics.
