How am I supposed to reach the enemy main airfield with my F4E with only 32m of fuel? Both team have nuked the mini airfield and left with only Main airfield to spawn. The B52 and Tu95 were shot down immediately after spawning. Now the Russians will always win because their Su-24Ms were capable of reaching our airfield and just spamming 30 kiloton nukes. We can’t even reach the enemy main airfield before the engines died of fuel starvation. So HOW do I drop a 30-kiloton nuke on the Russian main airfield and also managing to return home?

That’s what I did. My team even went for the shortcut! All the enemy SPAA were evaporated. But we were TOO SLOW and still died of engine starvation.
We were VERY CLOSE to there with no engine we are just gliding to the main airfield. then we get interceted by the Mig-23 on the main airfield once we get too close. Can’t toss the bombs because the engine died long ago.
sounds more like the enemy fighters did a better job with intercepting the slower nuke planes…
Well your pretty much can’t do anything with your engines dead.
We are literally gliding… if we turn, we lose speed, and then we crash. If there were no Mig-23s on the airfield, we probably would make it. If we have the F-111 we don’t even have to worry about this.
So is it impossible to make it?
without afterburner you have like 30mins of fuel while flying 1100kmh, so 550km and the map is 256x256km so you can do it
I can, but I almost did it. I just need, like, 2 min of extra fuel. Dogfighting the Mig-23 was no problem, but it wasted ALOT OF FUEL. ALSO how can I make it back home?
Now if I play without my friends, it’s going to be even harder. More SPAA + no one there to cover you. The entire enemy team will be chasing you and you’re alone; you’re not allowed to use the afterburner, or else you will ran out of fuel. So how will you do it. Normally there will be like 3 players chasing you and bunch of SPAA trying to shoot you down.
I don’t have something like the Su-24, which can simply go around the coast or around the mountains to avoid all SPAA because I don’t have over 60m of fuel. Those Su-24s can even make it back to base. How can my F4 make it back?
probably it will be just enough for the the way to the base and back, but thats not how you play it most of the time, you just bomb the ammo depots…
Yeah, I know, but there’s barely anything left to bomb in the middle, so… we have to do suicide mission to reach the enemy main airfield but it ain’t easy.
You get more mission points over time by repeatedly nuking the supply depots once they’ve fully restore themselves, or nuking the buk/hawk missile sites, than going all the way to the main airfield.
But if you still want to reach the main airfield, you can go supersonic at low level with 102% afterburner and reach the enemy base with fuel to spare.
Yes, I technically can bomb depots but it guarded by like 3 or 4 Mig-23s. 1 Mig-25 will literally just wait at the spawn of the B-52 and the rest of the player just fly there with the Su-24 at the edge of the map and dropped like 20 30kilotons nukes and can still manage to fly back to base. I did manage to kill the Mig-23 first but then I will run out of fuel after dogfighting them. My teammate are stuck at the main airfield getting evaporated every 10 second.
True, but the russian side having the choice between the mig-23 and su-24 for nuking purposes is a better design than forcing the us players into f-4e’s because the a-7 is too slow to be practical. I’ve said this elsewhere, but the us side should have replaced the hopeless a-6 with either the “wild weasel” f105 or the f111 to deliver the 30 kiloton nukes.
It fine… I got Stage 3 completed for both nation. Russia was easier.
