Im a GRB main and recently started focusing on planes more. I have troubles with using planes like the FW-190 and BF-109 as I cant outturn a lot of things. I have tried boom and zooming but I usually get outturned, reversed, or get shot down.
If you’re getting out turned, then you aren’t booming and zooming. You do have to be aware of reversals and recognize when it’s being set up, but generally speaking from ARB experience, if you use BnZ properly, you should be able pull away from a guy trying to pull an uno reverse on you who is already going slower than you.
Just my opinion on that front, and practice is the key to success!
Be Patient, if you dont get a shot opportunity in the first pass, separate, climb and try again
- You come from above (and preferrably behind), have a LOT more speed than your prey.
- You dive on them, during the dive you correct your course only slightly, to make ONE pass, do ONE slight turn (max 90° ) to keep the enemy in your sights.
- If the enemy dodges, or if you don’t hit, don’t worry, gently (no harsh manoeuvrers that kill your speed!) pull up again into a climb, your prey after his turn will face the other direction, is slower and lower. He can not catch you. Keep climbing, and evading slightly. If you can and think of it, also do a wide turn, forcing your opponent to do a tighter turn, losing more energy.
- When you are about to stall, (white wingtips start appearing) lower your nose to pick speed again, do a wide turn (again forcing your enemy to turn tighter than you, keeping his energy low and preventing them from outclimbing you ) and keep climbing yourself, but keep a comfortable speed.
- An ideal moment to start attacking again is when you see the white lines on your opponent’s wings, meaning he is slow and about to stall… and thus has neither the speed nor the manoeuvrability to evade.
- Go to Step 1

Edit: Oh, and mind the ground. Competent turners will fly low, take advantage of the BnZ’s high speed, turn under him to make his dive steeper, and turn the “Boom and Zoom” into a “Boom and Splat”
If the target dodged ur attack route, don’t try to follow it. Following will make u do unnecessary turns and lose energy during turning.
When u lose the chance to fire, keep ur speed and leave the target by flying horizontally or climbing at a small angle till u create enough distance from it (about more than 1.2km), then regain ur altitude to prepare ur next attack.
After an attack, DO NOT climb at a high angle immediately no matter u hit it or not, sometimes the enemy still could pull up and shoot despite being at an energy disadvantage, so use your speed to quickly create a distance, never climb until you become rly hard to be aim due to increased distance.
Climb, find lone plane, dive
