I’m curious if coal bunkers in WT flood when hit below the waterline, like they do IRL. Would this cut off fuel supply? provide some level of protection (perhaps by absorbing damage)?, and, once fully flooded, cause the ship to tilt in that direction depending on how many bunkers are affected?
There is no fuel on naval or tank vehicles.
Yes, coal bunkers have armor values.
Ships can tilt in WT based on where the flooded area is. Sometimes so much that your guns cant aim straight anymore. Obviously not like Titanic… Not sure how the tilting mechanism works exactly tho.
Do those values change when they are filled with water ?
Water does not provide any significant resistance to projectiles.
Coal fired ships had many different bunkers that they transferred fuel around with for the stokers to use. So no they would not lose steam. The side bunkers were mostly there for torpedo protection, providing an “air gap”.
A flooded bunker and other spaces was dealt with by counter flooding and pumping out. The ingame “deflooding” seems to do both.
Probably not. Flooded part is lower and harder to hit so it would make very little difference.
that makes sense, thankyou
