first of all: gaijin could just “switch a button” to remove ±3 br mm…
second of all: What u descripe as a Problem is what many of the old vets loved about the game. That there are heavys u cant just click away, that u needed some effort to get rid of smt like an is-4. And what was the solution back then? Shot the gun, shot the track, run around and kill him from the side if u dont have the gun for the weakspots. Or simply knock out his gun and keep him at a safe distance and fight with the ohter tanks.
What do u think is the reason the small jumbo is not 4.7 anymore? definitly not the gun lol. People got good with it, if u want to score with it u actually have most of the time no other choice as to shot down barrels and tracks.
and third of all: ofc u can balance tanks perfeclty, why should that be a problem? If a tank is to strong, reduce the reload or smt else. Its that simple.
When I said that Gajin can’t remove up/downtiers, I wasn’t saying that it’s literally impossible in Warthunder’s code for that to happen. I was saying that up/downtiers are required for the matchmaker to function. You would need millions of players playing WT otherwise.
Not sure who these “Old Vets” are.
Warthunder’s balance has only gotten worse year by year, especially in terms of map design, BRs, and ingame vehicles.
Destroying barrels and tracks is extremely inconsistent now.
Not to mention, CAS gives a challenge for those heavy tank players.
Cuz it belongs at 5.3
No, you really can’t.
The few vehicles that can either need HEAT or HE.
HE is extremely inconsistent, and the tanks with large enough shells are extremely easy to destroy.
HEAT requires precise aim (not a reasonable expectation for the average player at 2km), and multiple shots, whilst Tiger 1 can 1-shot pretty much any HEAT slinger (Pt-76, M-51, M36B2) with only an inch of visible armor cause APHE.
No matter how you cut it, a defensive Tiger 1 pretty much always has the advantage over every player on enemy team. CAS levels the playing field.
Neither 17pdr APDS nor Russian 122mm can go through the Tiger 1’s black hole turret. Not to mention, 17pdr APDS requires playing a Sherman (Tiger 1 can easily one shot to anywhere from pretty much any distance) and Russian 122mm requires a slow clunky casemate tank destroyer.
I’d still take the Tiger over most others in the range.
It has great survivability - and not just 1 vs 1. In a brawl there’s lots of enemies that just have a hard time taking it down. It has very good mobility considering the protection it carries.
Plus it’s very resistant to a big host of spaas (assuming the Tiger is not a passive stump)
