How player skill with SPAA effects the CAS problem

I don’t have reach the top Chinese tier yet but it depend how you play the spaa is not like playing the Pantsir. You compare cannon vs missiles are totall different style.

I have both Tor and HQ-17, and I can tell you it’s not the best SPAA, it’s not even top three. The only thing it’s better than is the Imp and OTOMATIC.

It’s better than nothing though too, and using them is better than just doing nothing.

Even the mere risk of you being on the field, is a deterent.

They absolutely need to add more SPAA variants.

Imagine how much of a risk there would be for an enemy if he was using the air ;)

Top spaa is still the pantsir but here is clip that you can kill verhicles with the missile if CAS not available.

Being in the combined mode is not a burden to anyone–it’s what RB GFs is all about, per its description.

Also, there is no such thing as “CAS players”…the closest we have is “tankers who fly.” Those are people simply playing the mode in its entirety and you really have no place to deride them for truly playing WT in whole.

RB GFs already focuses on GFs…GFs are the vehicles with the clout, via the objectives.

Also, decades newer RSPAAs facing 1940s/50s aircraft (which don’t even have all their weaponry) is a balance issue. RSPAAs do have an undue advantage as-is and at some point that will have to be reined in as a matter of balancing.

Current data leaves that unclear, because RB GFs is a shared mode between AF/GFs. The data is not filtered enough to definitively determine what you are claiming here.

Based upon how prevalent people such as yourself claim aircraft are, it appears very possible aircraft have at least comparable playtime, if not an advantage.

Until we have more data, your claim cannot be substantiated.

  1. Not all AA have them
  2. Of course there is always a dead body available nearby, and the missile will, as we know, always switch track
  3. What do you even want to answer to that, it makes 0 sense

ha yes, yes, and we can add Hawk and every sort of soviet SAMs from the 50s-60s, same era after all, let’s see how balanced that is.

And planes shouldn’t pull 14G, nor should they see outside of cockpit view, yet here we are

Okay, until you have actually played it, you have zero say in the Tor, okay? Good, glad we got that covered.

Every second played as SPAA is one second less played with MBT that can actually win the battles. Be usefull, play the objective

Dude, if you rely on being in a plane to get eliminations, just say that. Imagine playing GROUND battles, and then hiding in the sky, like dude, we have a mode for air. Play that.

Date of introduction was never a thing they balance vehicles on, it’s their ability to perform.

Yeah…you’re entirely misreading what I said–especially if you meant that to be personally addressed to me. I’m an adept tanker generally lead my teams, usually scoring in the upper 25% or so…but I don’t limit myself, so I’m also a tanker who flies.

I was referring to things as-is in my commentary bit there…nothing was said about ‘reliance’ or anything like that.

The dates are shorthand that reflect technological and capability disparities, of which there are many. I already alluded to this with the comment about weaponry.

As I said, that can only point at an unbalance tipped to the CAS’ side.

Calling it only slightly better than OTOMATIC and Imp is criminal. As I tried to indiciate in my OP, mobility matters. It just happens that the Tor has a lot of it; tracked chassis with controllable suspension that has a gear box with same reverse as forward. Don’t underestimate the mobility a chassis has playing a part in it’s effectiveness.

Of course, if all you do is sit in spawn then mobility won’t matter and all that matters is the missiles. But I personally prefer the 2S6 when compared to Pantsir by a thin margin because at least it can move, and somewhat conceal itself. The Pantsir is far too slow (although you can accelerate yourself relatively fast by using the guns) – the reverse speed is absolutely abysmal though. Meaning you don’t have the freedom of positioning you have in the 2S6. I personally hope the TOR comes to the Russian tree, I will absolutely love that thing personally.

Anyway. I ask you all a favour, if you die and spawn back in, take a look behind you/around you – and tell me how many SPAA you see sitting in spawn? I took this screenshot around a week ago. This is exactly the issue I describe in my OP.

3 SPAA sitting in spawn on Sun City

I would also like to share a clip that illustrates the issue even further.

FAB-500 UBMK Double Kill on two SPAA that didn't move an inch after spawning

Keep in mind, the FAB-500 UBMK is a dump GPS bomb. I dropped the munitions on them, and they didn’t move an inch after spawning in. I have pulled off this similar trick multiple times on the Su-24M; and I recommend those playing planes try it too.

I post both of these to give more concrete evidence to my point, because in the past people have simply handwaved it away. Just because this is two instances, doesn’t mean that this doesn’t happen often, it happens VERY often. That’s why playing smart is important.

Me looking at my impchapp stats, that only SPAA that I never push ground in, that only SPAA that reflects exactly how ground mates performed…))

Yep I even push with osa and ozelot should I say sorry?

This is true, and will always be true. This is why we have something like the PT-76B at 5.3

Sorry, did i agree with your answer? I don’t think so.

These discussions will never be constructive, the SPAA-CAS experience depends on what RB and nation you’re playing.

And people have an incredible bias against CAS.

OP’s post being an elaborate “skill issue” doesn’t help.

Yea, all stay in spawn with no strategy… that’s something I saw and told others about a year and a half ago when learning to play SPAA properly. I had a lot of success downing a lot of CAS and keeping a very good K/D on a good amount of SPAA. Also improving on some stats during that time period along with trying to keep a good win rate. However it’s more difficult with win rates due to how the team performs in some cases.

3.14 K/D on M247
5.16 K/D on SANTAL
2.91 K/D on Bosvark
5.07 K/D on SIDAM 25(Mistral)
12 K/D on Ozelot (need more games, but Im not a German Main)
etc…

All I did was position myself in better spots and changing locations depending on the team’s performance along with being patient to fire at the correct moments.
