Admittedly I have no answer here for you (have the B-52, but only tested it in test flight a bit…), but in general I suspect the B-52 to be not (yet) going to be a great base bomber in Sim, as there is no way to use CCRP from cockpit, and the bombing sight only being a bit tricky to use for that.
What I will try is to use the BUFF against airfields: Here the targets are larger and dropping a few dozen bombs could damage more than one modules…

Do airfields have Rolands at that BR? If they do , then it may be hard to bomb them without dying.
Then theres also the issue of being intercepted , given that both the B52 and TU95M are VERY easy to spot , even with Eyes MK I
