Well you certainly have a point, maybe his older videos were slightly better on this regard. I would still argue, that mimicking his playstile, and keepeng a track what spots he tends to use, is still can be useful.
As a general rule, YouTubers videos are likely cherry-picked, however you can still learn tactics from the games they do win. If they cannot seem to get a good game to show, and they upload a miserable experience, the vehicle likely has some severe drawback you need to work around, so take that into mind

u can barely learn something if most of their games are cutted/edited. raw gameplay is what usually matters more and useful commentary talking about the upsides and downsides of the tank the YTber is playing is also a good feature.
i follow a mexican YTber (since i speak spanish) who has a bunch of long videos (around 30/40/50min each one) where he plays the vehicle in a certain way, without cuts, and even giving historical information about the vehicle (which is useless in war thunder but it’s good to see somebody so interested in a vehicle).
he even started a new series called “rehabilitando mancos” (“rehabilitating the one-armed/disabled” idk how to say it in english) where he plays joins to Discord with the player his trying to help get better in WT and explains him what to do and what to don’t do.

just turn on subtitles or smth, or if u know spanish just watch the video. they are SUPER boring, but it’s the best u can do if u want to know how to play a vehicle like u could get a nuke while being blind.

eh tbh who cares if your good or shit. its a game. just play to have fun, as for the being broke thing. unfortunately that is the downsides of free to play in this game. you make way less SL and RP, and its easy to lose money or make no money per match. If you are able to afford it if there is one thing i do recommend for WT its prem time. its a pretty good price when its on sale and it effects all of your vehicles.

also small tip. watch the kill cam when you die. it can help in learning the weaknesses of your own vehicle

ok so i have a major skill issue with air then lol. I keep seeing people say the air grind is was easier and fuck that has not been my experience lol. I can do like 2 matches before im bored out of my mind. I rely on events to give me high tier cas lol
it’s extremely ez to play since in ARB u only have 1 live, so u don’t have to grind 3 vehicle to do good in a match, and u can max ur crew skills way faster.

I haven’t really tried ARB outside of a game or two with the mig 21. Ill have to play it more it would seem.
You should try to be aware of what you’re doing and consciously try to learn from mistakes.
I was already dropping nukes before reaching lvl 100 because I was in the mentality of ‘every death or non-pen is a skill issue’, which is exactly the reason why i learnt very many small weakspots, learnt absurd places to go in certain maps by looking at my teammates from time to time and looking where i died from.
If you try to do the same, you should naturally start to avoid going to places you die often and be aware of where enemies usually are. Also, you should pick a path in a map you tend to do best in and try to perfect it, aka learning where enemies can peak you, what you can get away with, how you can help your team.
Bonus points if you don’t say ‘bias this, bias that’ and learn how to kill certain tanks instead, especially the rare ones like obj 279, is7, e100, etc.

or buy a cool SL printer like the Tornado IDS WTD61, MiG-23ML, Turm III or T58 which lasts forever and u can grind a big part of a specific tech tree with it (and some of them are extremely OP and exclusive of the premium tech tree line).

Thanks everyone for the help, I really appreciate the effort. Unfortunately nothing here actually helps and I’ve gotten very depressed. My life sucks and War Thunder just shows how much of a terrible, disfunctional, and incapable human I really am. I’ve lost all hope in everything. F*ck me.
Oh, come on. It is not that bad. Guess what? After a long day of work I’m sh:t in Warthunder too. And what if you are bad? So what? The only wrong way to play a game is not enjoying it. Don’t care about the bullies, if they are really that good as they say, they can win the match.
Warthunder is just a game, not a metric of how good of a person you are.
Go play another game and make friends and study, that will probably alleviate your feelings.
If push comes to shove talk with ppl about it irl or sumthing

War Thunder is a game, it has nothing to do with IRL. I suggest taking a long break from the game if this is how you’re feeling. Pursue something other than wt and try focusing on improving IRL

It is just a game and not a particularly good one, especially in the entertainment and satisfaction criteria. It is unbalanced, buggy, flawed,badly optimized and coded and full of cheats, all in all not a good game at all a few nicely rendered vehicles do not make a good game.
If you are not enjoying it or getting too wrapped up, involved or concerned about the game it is best to quit and find something more enjoyable and useful to do, it is after all just a game a method/vehicle to waste and eat up your free time and try to extort some of your hard earned cash off you ( I strongly suspect you work harder for that than anyone at Gaijin).
