How does gaijin define the weight of additional armor modifications

As shown in the picture, I took screenshots of the BTR82AT and EBRC additional armor modification parts. EBRC exceeded BTR with a weight of 1.3 tons, but only received a layer of grille armor. The BTR82AT additional armor kit does not only include grille armor, it also has a layer of armor attached to the entire vehicle body. So, what is GAIJIN’s basis for the weight of the additional armor modification parts?

I don’t think even Gaijin knows, to be honest.

They completele make it up, look at the T-64B’s ERA weighing only ~1.1 tonne, while the Challenger Mk 3 ERA weighs 3.4 tonnes (difference between Challenger DS and Mk3)

The Jag is much larger and has a “real” turret, which means more weight added to the vehicle. While the BTR only gets it on the sides.

Only reasonable thing I came up with.

Combination of size and ERA type.

Challenger uses much larger blocks that also add to the actual armor value, while the T-64B only has light kontakt-1 designed only to deal with EFP’s.

according to gaijin the fence welded to the Jaguar weighs more than all of the add on era of the bvm

not all but i do agree with OP that its absurd that the BTRs grill and armour plates weigh less than the Jags ever so thin grill
