Wing ripping is caused by two things. Either exceeding the G limit, or the critical mach number. The reason a wing rips after passing critical mach is because the airflow separates, creating an insane amount of drag and turbulence that shakes the the wing apart. You can see this when you go at high speed, your wings start to shake. The reason a 20mm won’t do this is because a prop bomber is going nowhere near fast enough for the vibrations to rip apart the wing, assuming only the skin is damaged.
…So that’s why they felt strangely reliable.
I can believe that, though in-game it feels like 20mm IT does fuck all.
The incendiary chance of 15mm IT is the same or lower as 12.7mm API while penetrating less armor and dealing less damage. They are as useful as Tracers shells for other calibers.
Infact practically any Incendiary shell is severly underperforming. Only API or HEI are useable, because they penetrate or explode.
15mm AP also doesn’t kill a pilot in one shot, which leaves on the the HEF-T round to deal useable damage to a plane.

Huh? Do you not see the one plane that legit ate a 88 flak round DIRECTLY to where the wing spars are and it made it home fine?

What im saying is that Plane’s aren’t fragile little delicate things, they can take a POUNDING, and keep flying.
A SINGLE tiny 20mm round isn’t gonna break a wing clean off.
Need i bring up the video of a ME410 dumping its entire Ammunition store into the Wing of a B-17 and it being perfectly fine?

Sounds great. The He112 feels nice but is too underpowered to do anything well. Having a 1200HP engine would definitely help and probably have it behave like the 2.7 Ki-44-I.
