I mean one way or another there’s an absurd amount of RP required, but it seems the whole balance just falls apart when more new stuff is added and the old stuff is tossed away by Gaijin.
The T-2 was completely dominating when it was added, now it’s just ass even with the buffs it has received… it just means that if you aren’t grinding the vehicles when they come out you’re screwed because Gaijin stopped caring about it and now you get outclassed in every category whilst needing to grind a disgusting amount of RP because after review bombing the game we had to wait a year and a half for this useless bonus crap.
Rank 7 you can grind with the Swiss Hunter, it is one of the best 9.7 at rank 6 out there. Palisman that one if you want to, I really recommend using the Hunter.
Rank 8 are only 3 aircraft right now. I used the MiG-21MF and it brought pretty good results, but I haven’t played that one in a while.
It also depends on what BRs you want to play. If more on the lower BRs, I would recommend the 21MF, if you like higher BRs more, I would say go with the 23MLA and then the 29. The F-4F is also good, but it only has 4 rear aspect missiles and is surrounded by aircraft with all aspect missiles.
The ICE is outclassed by everything, the only big advantage it has are the 4 AMRAAM.
If ICE gets uptiered yes. If it gets downtiered into F4S spam it gets to curbstomp everything. ICE has better flight performance. Infinitely better radar. Infinitely better missiles
I don’t have the Swiss hunter yet, so it will be forever to get that unlocked with this dumb squadron system that exists for reasons beyond my understanding.
Too bad, the Hunter is really really good to grind the TT. You could GE it though (I wouldn’t recommend; If you did that, you could instead get the 21Bis, of if you hate yourself and want to mind numbingly bomb bases, the Tornado).
Then I’d say MiG 19 or Cl-13B and then the 21MF;
Get the 21Bis in the folder and ignore the Su-22 line, it is not worth it. You only need 5 vehicles from rank 7 for rank 8 (also less RP spent).
As I said, after that, depending on BR and playstyle you wanna play, the F-4F or the 23MLA, or the 21Bis.
MiGs just don’t feel fun to play at all, a generic jet without missiles or flares that can face A-10s and whatnot… the BR region is as annoying for air as it is for ground and in both cases decompression is the thing Gaijin is allergic to.
And air games last 5 minutes each which doesn’t help with the rewards either when they make it time based, which surely is not a coincidence.
It works when it works, but be prepared to see an F-111, or napalm equipped F-104 or Mig-23 just somehow fly right through the entire blob of enemy planes unharassed only to bomb the bases before you can bomb the bases. Sometimes it will look like you have a clean drop but then an A-5 will come out of nowhere and wipe out the base.
The 5km CCRP drop is comparatively safe from the enemy compared to the near suicide of ground hugging, but your prize gets stolen from you if any of the ground huggers get lucky enough to live long enough to press their spacebar.
You are in the pain stage of German air at the moment.
For that stage, the Hunter is the best there is; bummer you don’t have it.
For the moment and your progress I would go with the MiG-15bis. It is under the A-10 lvl, so other aircraft will have 9Bs at best. It is also the BR where you can face supersonics in only an full uptier.
The CL-13B Mk. 6 is you best bet I guess, as it is considered the best sabre.
Or you go with the 23BN. It is the MiG-23 airframe on 9.7, which is crazy, but it has no flares or missiles.
For rank 7 I have to revert my suggestion for the MiG-21MF. I played it a bit over the last week and it is completely compressed right now, so I do not recommend it right now anymore. Consider the 21bis instead. Or as I have found out myself, the 23MLA.
21MF matchmaker not good; 23MLA matchmaker very good atm.
Also another question: How many crews do you have for aircraft? I recommend only using 1 as you are splitting the crew points across crews with multiple.
I have been using the G.91 and getting some ground targets with it, and sometimes the Mig-19s but that’s kinda sucky…
I am close to getting the 21MF and was hoping to use that, maybe get a talisman on sale or something as it’s the only one I have in that rank and nothing actually seems any better.
I have dedicated air crews, but without expert crew I don’t care as much as they’re atrocious regardless.
If you’re going to talisman something at rank VII, do it to the 21bis, or the Mig-23. They are both good for their BR, and they have decent matchmaking.
