How do people learn Engine Sounds

I do not understand how people learn them is there a agreed upon showcase or anything?

You just play the game. Eventually you’ll be like “I hear a Chaffee/AMX-13”

Driving out that tank also allows you to hear the engine noise it has, so you’ll be x10 more likely to hear a Russian/swedish tank engine if you’ve played a Russian/swedish tank

I know this is cliche, but just “keep playing” lol. Take your time. Don’t rush through the ranks. Remember that many people that you hear on YouTube videos/streams have been playing the game for over a decade now lol.

You have “only” been playing for a few years. And you are “only” level 20 so far. So, you have not played “that many” matches. You are doing fine for the experience you have so far. Don’t stress about it, keep playing matches, keep asking questions like you are right now. You’ll learn the engine sounds with time.

Don’t feel bad or unskilled. It takes time 👍

Edit:

You can also use your rangefinder/rangefinder keybind when you are looking at an enemy tank and your crew will call out more information about the tank you are looking at. That might help you with learning the various tanks.

I mean, 8 years from registration can mean he’s played just 1000 hours, 3 minutes or 8 whole years (hopefully not cos they’d be dead if they gamed without rest).

you can hear the sounds and vaugley understand what it is from the engine for example IS2 and T34s and KV all share same engine so you can tell its russian if you hear that engine but some tanks have destinct engines like the TIGER which you can identify as a tiger

A little extra question, how do people play with apcr?

I don’t really think they do… It shatters easily; it’s only used when that’s the only shell available for that tank or when you really can’t penetrate that tank. It also deals little damage.

you learn over time. and at the BR, nations youte facing and speed they are moving you can make an educated guess to which one it will be.

I do abuse this in the chieftain 900 as people turn to get a free kill on a leopard. and meet a very angry mk5 chieftain
