How do I play the F-5E? Haven't touched it in half a year since I could 1v1 with the f16 and I'm struggling horribly

I’m concerned that my precious 4.kd on the f-5e went down to a pitiful 3.8, now I need to kill 8 more people without dying to get a round number again. What fuel amount should I get? How should I proceed? I usually take 25 minutes of fuel but end up getting extremely heavy, maybe I don’t need to wep all the time.
