How do i improve?

I just can’t have fun playing this game… what am i doing wrong?
It doesn’t matter which tank i pick, where i go on the map i just get stomped over and over and over again. Even if i camp, play slow or push up behind my team it just doesn’t matter what i do.
Everyone spots me before i can spot them and before you can even react you’re dead…
Am i the only one struggling this hard?

What rank and nation do you play?

Here is what i do in tank battle you can use some of it
1- listening sounds that happen around you
2- looking into map and looking marked or pinned enemies
3- using binoculars while behind the cover
For open field map like poland large scale- using binoculars to find the range and staying hidden
For urban map like city-checking every corner that i cross
With my tank and lookout for my ally, pinned or marked enemy

Russia rank 3/4

Ok, what you have unlocked at this tier and which vehicles you have in lineup?

I use the kv-85, PT-76B, T-34-57 and SU-85M mostly rank 3 tanks trying to unlock T-34-85

You are definitely not the only player that feels this way. Unless you are going to spend a lot of time playing and researching out of game as well as potentially spending money, as a casual player it is a pretty lackluster and miserable playing experience.
There are lots of broken aspects in the game, as well as you are not in a team your are on your own, so if you actually manage to do anything in a game that is a positive. You are playing against sixteen players that want to kill you as well as fifteen others that will make your game an absolute misery for their own gain, often intentionally and often just through their stupidity.
If you are not enjoying it now then the odds are that you will never enjoy it, it may be in your best interest to walk away now before you get annoyed and frustrated, or if you treat it as a casual time waster and do not get invested or involved that may work.

PT-76 is not a good vehicle, I’d suggest changing it to something different, like basic SU-85.

That’s good decision, it’s the most enjoyable tank there. Just stick with it, and unlock next vehicles.
Don’t bother playing higher tier tanks in rank IV, and most vehicles are skippable with the exception of: T-34-85, SU-100 and SU-100P. IS-2 and ISU-122 are painful to play even with good crew level, due to long reload speed and unreliable cannon (often does no damage to enemy).
Try to play more safe, check enemy weakspots and map positions (especially them!), this will be very helpful. Unfortunately this game needs a lot of time to get better, and as F2P it gets really hard to do so.
My advice: if you still feel frustrated or even annoyed by this game despite all your efforts, just quit before it gets worse. I say this as a player, that spent over 7,5k hours here, and I still can’t call myself a good player by any means.

From what I read, you are progressing too fast. You do play realistic, you play rank III/IV and you have not even 1000 completed matches total.
Go down to a BR level where you enjoy the gameplay. Spade the vehicles there. build up crews, expert them with SL. It sounds as if you have skipped some of those steps. The further you progress, the harder it gets. So don’t progress if it is too hard already.

Moving down in br didn’t do me much good either. Loads of super experienced players with 25K battles or more so still no chance what so ever.

Right now, you have the event craze. Lots of veterans return to the game and farm the event. This is not a good time in any BR for green players.

In 4 days, the event is over. Try rank I and rank II. And make sure you understand stuff like crew skill and experting. Use experted tanks!

I know how important the crew skill and experting a tank is i’ve watched loads of tutorials n stuff like that but i’ll try

im a tank noob to so what i do is i wait behind cover while my team goes ahead and if i see on the map that they died i know an enemy is coming from where my teammate went

i myself only upgrade targeting and reload speed :)

If i do that I’ll end up at the bottom of the team so no point in playing then

1- Use headphones.
2- Note where players go on maps, and do your best to remember popular positions while being aware of sightlines to your current and future positions.
3- Treat this like a third/first person shooter with a different method of movement.
4- Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of your vehicle as well as the potential vehicles of the enemy.

These aren’t guaranteed to increase your performance, but these are stepping stones to improving your abilities.
There are more nuanced things tied to these.
General map awareness is the biggest thing I can’t do a decent job explaining.

Oh, and prioritize aiming for visualized ammo/crew. Don’t rely on post-pen damage, and be happy when post pen damage occurs.
Always prepare for 2 - 3 rounds fired and be happy when it’s just one.
It’s a good mentality to get into and reduces frustration while increasing gratitude.

Try and play the objective - high risk, high reward.

I always try to play the objective. Braindead teammates won’t tho

I assume you play RB, there is more camping for sure. I play Arcade and teams are more proactive. They may not be geniuses, but at least they try and do things to win, not just sit on their buttocks.

Nah never play rb would probably get stomped even harder if i do. In my experience its either you get a shit team and lose, lose because of early leaves, lose because the pro players are divided unfairly between teams or win and in that case your team is so good that i can’t earn any points before the game ends…
