I don’t know if it’s a skill issue or what but I find myself always loosing dogfights between other low tier jets. I think it may have something to do with the fact that the turn radius on many jets such as the Hunter F.6 have massive turn radius’s, but I don’t really know. If anyone knows any skills for this type of dogfighting, I’m all ears.
I know “low tier” is a relative term and means different things to different people, but having a subject line of “low tier jet” and then mentioning the Hunter F.6 (BR 9.7 in realistic) in your post might make you miss out on people who have experience in that BR level but won’t read the post as low tier might be thought of as Me 262’s, F-80s, Meteors, Mig-9’s etc (around the 7.0 BR levels as compared to 9.7). I’d imagine a 7.0 jet battle is quite different to a 9.7 jet battle with missile-flinging everywhere.
I don’t know if you can edit post titles but if you don’t get many answers try again with mentioning BR 9.7 in the title.
(I can’t help on your question as I don’t play that high a BR)
In the Hunter F.6, don’t play it. It has a heavy HEAVY learning curve and I personally can’t play the thing, SRAAMs suck, it doesn’t turn and it’s speed isn’t special. Play something like a Harrier or Jaguar at that BR, million times better.
Ngl harrier sucks in ARB. there’s been way, WAY too many times i’ve launched an Aim-9G at a Mig-19, and watched as the missile got 10 ft behind the mig, then just lost all its energy and falls away.
then youre launching them too far.
The harriers are great for ARB. You can almost reverse anything, as long as they dont airbrake, with how fast that things roll rate is and with the AIM9G’s any flareless plane that comes for you is sure to die.
One of the few planes that made the harrier a chore to play was moved up ( f5 C) so it has alot of freedom now, just gotta be careful to not get swarmed
How close do I have to be? I typically wait till under 2 miles distance to fire.
With 2 miles, its basically 50/50, fast enemies will just barely outrun it and slow targets will eat it, so the closer the better, your speed also helps.
I’d recommend around 1.8 - 1.7. only shoot 2 miles on slow targets, like someone that just turned or smth
I launch within 2.5 km, usually within 2, which is about 1.6 miles - 1.3
I mean it really depends on what jet you are playing. make sure you use flaps aswell
Edit: I looked at your stat card, and even though I haven’t played it, Im pretty sure the milan is mediocre for dog fighting. Especially at your BR, your wings make your energy retention terrible (delta wings), and as a result your turning sucks whenever you get to lower speeds, I would focus on staying above mach .7 unless you are almost in a position to fire your guns at them. The meteor is probably your best bet for a dogfighter. Its probably just that france doesn’t really have the best “dogfighters”
play soviet jets and you will win more often
Let me take a guess, got beaten by Yak3?
thanks for your feedback, I will try and use the meteor.
