I was just in a Ground RB match on Iberia, single cap point version.
I was in my DDR T-72M1. Came across a domestic Russian T-72A, without a round ready so I hit him with my MGs, a 12.7 and a coax 7.7 or 7.62 whichever the Eastern Bloc used… And he suddenly dies. He went from fully combat capable (I checked server replay) to dead when my MGs tapped him. Kill feed even gave the MG kill icon. Needless to say, there was no way I could have penned him.
I checked server replay as I said, and yeah, that’s what happened. The first MG rounds to tap him completely blew him up. He didn’t J out. Did he? Why? At the same instant? That is very peculiar timing. Why would he J out at perfect health after disabling me? He had me dead to rights. I’m confident he didn’t J. So I guess I’m asking, is there some known issue here? I know that once in a very great while, under certain circumstances HE rounds from small autocannons can overpressure an MBT, but these are MGs and they don’t have any HE type rounds to begin with…
My guess is that he disconnected or had internet issues and the kill was given to the last person to hit him, even if with machine guns. However, that’s just a guess.
Yeah, I think they J’d out or something, I’m sure the MG didn’t pen him (though gaijin does have a history) you were probably the only person to touch his tank so the game gave you the kill, like if you nicked a wing in air battles, it turned yellow, and the. They J’d out you would get the kill
He was likely trying to J out before you started firing at him, maybe to deny you a kill or just by coincidence. Looks goofy but there’s really no other explanation
