The CVR(T) chassis holds the world record for being the fastest production tank in the world. It was renowned for its good handling, acceleration, and speed.
In game it has a grand total of none of these traits. The smallest tap of either A or D will send it flying off to the left or right. The gears are so unrealistically spread that it accelerates to 40 MPH slower than almost any other 40+ MPH capable tank in the game. It also loses so much speed in turns a T-80U is able to maintain higher average speeds.
This isn’t a small issue nor one that should be ignored there are already 4 CVR(T) vehicles in game, and 2 of them should have an identical engine/gearbox. Yet they do not. As it stands now the Scimitar is no faster than a Challenger in terms of average speed.
TAM 2P HP/Ton = 19.3
T80U-E1 HP/Ton = 23.5
CVR(T) Scimitar HP/Ton = 25
Despite having by far the greatest HP per Ton the CVRT still manages to be the slowest in terms of acceleration and by a large margin.

Handwave something about “game balance”…
Not only is it pathetically slow its still missing the majority of its armour protection. It handles like wet spaghetti as well.
Spaded or stock? (I don’t have any of them). It makes a diff.
In game it should handle pretty much how the VFM5 does just more jumpy and higher top speed. Its in practice slower than tetrach

There all set to spaded reference in test drive I also have the Scimitar spaded.
Legit its awful. You would be better off in a olifant lol.
The CVR(T) Striker is not even able to maintain 40 around that bend.

Srtiker is heavier but its engine is completley wrong. Its rpm and power doesn’t match the J60 or cummins

Either way the J60 is literally derived from a Sports car/race car engine and the Cummins 12V is renown for its torque, power, and reliability.
All I want is the EM-235 Scimitar with 235 HP, added armour, and the BGTI
Not sure why you’re claiming game balance just cause Gaijin says that regen steering isn’t in game.
its not just regen steering thats the issue. gear ratios are wrong and engine torque is non existent.
CVRT shouldn’t be far behind fox in grunt but is instead quite pathetic in game
It should be faster in tighter situations due to being tracked with a tighter turn radius. As well as over snow, mud, and all that fun stuff.
It should in practice be almost better than the Fox in basically every situation.
im sure if you go and look at the devblog when the scimitar was unveiled I said exactly this. instead you’re faster in a chieftain
Its getting ridiculous if we are being serious. All of Britain’s historically great vehicles are just totally gimped in War Thunder.
There is nothing more annoying then getting hyped for one of your favorite vehicles being added just for it to be some moldy cheese.
I mean the harry hopkins seems to have been done well, if we ignore a very high BR
Yeah… its not my cup of tea lol.
Its also ugly, and basically a useless addition as I don’t think Britain needed another light tank at 2.something.
Tetrach is faster with the same gun while being smaller and better looking.
I think its a good addition tbh. Its a better-armoured tetrarch that introduces the spotting mechanic while being in a familiar kind of tank. it should probably only be 2.0 though

Its because you have no sense of humor.
Crusader is awesome for spotting
however crusader is a cruiser tank, so should be a medium. its also not close to the tetrarch which is the best tank in rank 1 britain easily
