Do you know what the most funny thing is here?
Naval development and modelling is completely separate from the other modes, and you my friend, do not play naval, because if you did you wouldn’t be complaining about this issue.

Rodney and Nelson were interwar ships
Yes, I’m aware. The North Carolina’s were faster, more maneuverable, with more firepower and better fire control.
Heya. Is the placement of Vanguard after Warspite set in stone?
Seems very strange to me that it isnt placed after HMS Hood as another fast-battleship / battlecruiser?
That would be because the R&N were ~15 years older laid down in the early 1920’s - Treaty designs using essentially WW1 tech, and the NC’s were late 1930’s designs that had the benefit of not being constrained by any of that.
What would the quintessential british battleship be, even if it wasnt laid down? As most of the ships i know of are old designs and i would like to see what we could have made late war and what was proposed. Would it be the lion class i keep hearing about or is there another that people are overlooking?
You have HMS Lion
HMS King George V
G3-Class
There is also the N3 class but there isnt a suggestion for that
Insert shameless self promotion
Were there any difference from KGV 1945 and DoY 1945?
Thanks, It may be heretical of me to say but i must. Italian ships do just look better… Was hoping there would be something out there we made that i would fall in love with but nothing compares to the littorio class ships. especially with the turret layout of the king george V with the 4 then 2 combination. just doesnt look right.
I thought the N3 would be ineligible due to no construction start?
Uh, very possible
First battleship i ever made in from the depths was based on the dunkirque (dont go telling the french this but they make REALLY, REALLY good looking ships).
I was also surprised by this, putting it after the Warspite makes no sense
You’re correct. Heard a rumour they started building guns for it but never seen anything remotely supporting that and it’s been literally a century.
Likely, upgrades were not done as standard but more depending on what was available during docking
I was replying to the comment that the British navy was superior to the US navy after WWII.
That was a common opinion even at the time - unfortunately good looks were not matched by performance - they performed OK… in daylight… but that was all
TBF, from what ive learnt so far from my binge watching vidoes about naval armour, gunnery and so forth i would say the littorio and roma were pretty good for the day. I would rate them (personally mind you) above the bismark. The italians knew what they were doing with them at least. Just a shame the quality of italian munition was so low considering the accuracy of the ranging the roma had with its 20 or so range finders lol.
From what ive found out, the accuracy issue was a problem with the ammunition rather than the cannons, with poor quality being an issue. So if this would be seen as something that can be fixed in game i have no clue.
