Background information
This figure of Ōyodo Kai was shown off on the JDS Ōyodo (DE-231) during an event that was open to the public in May of 2024 next to a model kit of the Light Cruiser Ōyodo. While it wasn’t disclosed when this was added to the ships collection it’s safe to say that it happened at some point between 2018 and 2024.
From the information that was posted below the display of the ships’ model/figure, the figure is most of the time located in the captains room and has been in “active duty” for some time already.
This same picture also shows that the model on the left was created by a crew member and in my personal opinion, he did an amazing job!
Back to the actual suggestion though, as most pictures focus a bit more on the informational content below or next to this, here is a different picture of the figure.
And a closer look of the 2D decal (poster) in the background with the ships protective seal which was created after getting approval from the IP holder.
Implementation
There are a couple ways how the figure can be implemented, due to being a historical element for a vessel it obviously would be in that area but arguments can be made for the inclusion of the case as well as for leaving it out. Because of this I think the best solution would be to just leave it up to all of you to see what option is the most popular so feel free to vote!
Can we do both In and out of the case options? Aside from that, you are opening doors. Cause a lot of us international dwellers who enjoy anime wished, Gaijin did collabs and managed to make them occur outside of just the DMM.
The issue appears to be that you don’t like a certain type of historical content due to personal biases, which like I stated before is more then fine.
Good thing that no part of the decorator shown or the game it is from is rated R18 in that case!
I can’t really edit the poll anymore without causing issues with the poll itself, stating your wishes in the comments is more then fine instead though! It would be nice to see re-runs of the old Collabs, as the content is already in the game I don’t really think there would be a lot of issues for that but that’s something for a different suggestion. o7
A +1 from me! It would be nice to get the 1/700 model of Oyodo as well (it really is super well done), and it would also be neat to get the poster as a decorator. Plus, there shouldn’t be too much controversy as many JMSDF ships use the Kancolle characters as mascots, so it is a historically accurate trend.
We need more historical anime decoration and decals in-game, it’s a pity that we don’t have that much in-game so far (on the international server at the very lest).
