Thats M4A3 Sherman from premium pack, its 5.7 if i remember correctly. If i play US rank 4 i mostly play 6.0-6.7. But 5.3 with Shermans and Jumbos aint that bad.
don’t run aced crew or premium, i’m a player with a few hundred hours and the US tech tree was my first chosen tree
THose premiums have no difference with tech tree variants, and my crew is only experted. Tho yes, its ~100lvl crews. But thats not a 5.3 US fault.

i WAS in your shoes, i have ~150 games with 5.3 US lineup. With tech tree tanks only. And Duster as SPAA. And i still dont understand why 5.3 US is bad.
Tiger Spam particularly the Tiger 2, Tiger West, and Tiger OST spam, not to mention not being able to pen T-34-85s when i should be able to
Tiger 1s are one that you feed on, 150 pen of the 76mm + fast firing is great to deal with them. Panthers are much bigger threat.
Tiger 2s are OP, thats fact. And you play with them all the time thanks to 6.7 being one of the most popular BRs… They make every medium tank miserable if played right. Tho you still have some chances against them if shoot right and flank.
And t-34s… Well, shait happends. Sometimes you just dont win. Thats how it is.

now try stepping into my shoes, getting uptiered repeatedly to 6.7 while rocking 5.7, dealing with YAKs that can one tap your tanks, on top of the 6.7 bullshit tanks, and all that, you know what the BR hell i’m talking about is
And yet again i play that fairly good enough. US has it better than many others against 6.7. Sweden for example - not only lacks tanks (Strv 74 + t-34-85 basically) but also lacks air. US on the other hand has funny Jumbo to use at downtiers and funn Shermans to use everywhere. You can also pick Jackson if you lack firepower (90mm 185 pen 5.3), and two good attacker-fighter planes (wide choise, from Corsair to thunderbolt and AM-1/AD-2).
i’m purely ground based honestly, on top of that i’m usually fighting the “Unholy Alliance” of Germany/Russia/China so most of the shit there i’m struggling against, and it’s not a 1 off, it’s CONSISTANT bullshit, IS-2s, Tigers, YAK-9s, Ducks, and all that bullshit
I can tell you that, fairly, fighting IS-2 and Tiger 2 as Sherman isnt easy. But otherwise? Its pretty good to have Sherman. Tiger 1s, 34-85s are mostly easy targets. Learn to aim to flat spots and you`ll be good. Just a bit of courage is what is needed.
As for YAKs… I never actually thought they were that bold when i got them, but sometime ago i tried it and it was a menace. All you can do is either use planes to deal with them or move around with SPAA so it would be harded for them to shoot you.
oh you mean the courage that the enemies lack because they hide behind cheap ass corners and snipe you when you’re trying to get to a point?

T1e1, jumbo, and m36 is a good lineup.
So this is more of an experience issue. Nothing wrong with being new. It takes some time to get stuff down. If you are getting tilted, try dropping a br or 2 for a bit.

Pretty decent if you ask me. I believe you can learn to use it properly.
My first advice is: play Jumbo agressively. Move, get closer, shoot barrels. Its good CQC machine.
Other than that, i can suggest you to play M4A2 76 as t-34-85 - pick a route that is likely to lead you to the sides of the enemy, aim for ammunition. If meet enemy frontally, you have an advantage of STAB, so, if you`re not sure where to pen, shoot off the barrel with a gun and track with a machinegun, and then think.
again my primary issue is getting “GAIJINED” (not being able to pen what should pen) and getting CAS spawned by YAK-9s and Ducks along with twin tigers
Thats an issue all players of WT have from time to time. You either get used to it and :3 or leave the game :(
Which you would be able to deal with if 1) move using good mobility of the T77 (i myself prefer not to get even close to it when play YaKs, its one scary SPAA out there) 2) get yourself a plane to shoot them down (which also would lead you to have an attacker)
As i said earlier, tigers are basically your easiest food. Tiger 2s arent, but everyone struggles with them at that ratings.
Nothing you suggested will do anything about this.
Duck is a horrible cas plane. It is just a meme for the funny 75mm.
The 90 should have no issue dealing with them. With the 75, dont fight them head on. Luckly, german mains tend to be really bad at that br range.
again, i’d like to reitterate, when i get camped it’s not just air or ground, it’s a combo of air and ground, usually 3 planes(YAK-9s and Ducks) AND 2 ground vehicles all at once, you can’t fight against that because you’re getting lit up from multiple directions
