Help with spading rank VII British planes

I’m seeking help as for title. I have just grinded rank VII Brit planes using a rank VI line with Harrier GR1, Hunter F6 and Hunter FGA 9 that was pretty good and I had a good K/D. Now I’m grinding rank VIII and I need a line of rank VII in order to avoid penalisations. My line is the Sea Harrier, the two Hawk 200 and the Phantom FGR2 for a total BR of 11.3. It seems to me that those planes are inferior by far to what I encounter at that BR, at least for what concerns the stock version (maybe, once spaded, I will have fun with them). Any idea to spade them without dying 800k times (and besides using GE)?

I tell you now what I realized before:
Arcade ends around rank VI. Beyond that, arcade starts to turn into comedy. But let us assume that you are intended to play comedy arcade still. What to do?
Spade the planes in realistic. The mode should actually be called “snobistic”, because it is full of entitlement, including RP. You can grind a module per mission in realistic if you shoot a few pillboxes and stay alive for most of the match. Arcade never rewards you like that, even if you butcher the enemy team singlehandedly.
When you have grinded the modules you need, you can return and play arcade. If you still want to.

Thank you. This is a good idea. I’m playing arcade because I’m a casual player and I do not have much time to spend in flying for 10 minutes and dying the two seconds after :-)

Just for curiosity: why for you arcade beyond rank VI become a comedy?

Maps are still surreal (like chinese mountains) and small. Planes are still faster than irl. They spawn very close to each other. The resulting battle is just grotesque.

If I want to bomb a base in arcade in rank VII, I need to deploy air breakes at spawn so I am slow enough to drop 5 seconds later. That is comedy in my book.

I dropped arcade for realistic something like 6 months ago, and I can tell you, it’s painful at first but once you get good it’s far more enjoyable. I’m all also a rather casual player, but I really prefer playing a few rb battles over arcade ones when I have a bit of time to play. At high tiers, arcade maps become way too cramped and it’s really too chaotic, and the broken physics really don’t help.
As well, the grind is indeed far faster like the other guy said, you can get 10k+ rp with a decent match, in arcade you’d need a gazillion kills to achieve the same

Yes I know that arcade air top tier is a mess (I played and spaded all the Italian tree), and I avoid playing fox 3 for this. At tier VII it seems still playable but the Brit planes at this rank are a little bit problematic. Frankly, I tried before RB for spading some planes (F86, etc.) but it was a disaster… besides the RP.

IMO Arcade gets terrible at superprops, but that’s just how I felt it
I dropped it for rb as soon as I got a jet

yea this is the lowest point of the british air tree.

the Hawk 200 is a 7.3 airframe with 9L missiles, really ought to be 10.0, RDA probably should be 10.3 because that platform is heavily reliant on the gun, which it doesnt have.

the phantoms are just… sad, i love phantoms but they are useless when you see hornets every match.

the harriers would be good if modelled right. they suck right now though.

My honest recommendation would be to use the GR1 harrier or FGA9 hunter to bypass them. (bring rocket pods on them as makeshift flares).

Arcade is also an ADHD nightmare compared to Realistic so all i can say there is to keep out of furballs

Plus I am on Xbox and like using the controller and there is no match against the pro player who know every aspect of radar warfare and the multi buttons you need. I will try ARB again. I never played it with planes missile capable. Maybe it will be less painful.

Never played arcade at missile tiers, but arb is funnier imo. It has its issues, but they’re probably worse in arcade.
I wish you good luck

As I said this was the line I used to grind all rank VII, and it is a good line, but now that I’m approaching Rank VIII do I need rank VII planes to avoid penalties in grinding, right?

The research penalties are still more efficient than using the trash that is the shars and speys.

shar is the nickname for the sea harrier.

spey is what the british phantoms are often called as they use a rolls royce spey engine instead of the general electric one.

Ah ok. Never finishing to learn something.
