Help with management

Hello, I recently thought about buying a Mi-28A helicopter. After watching a lot of videos, I couldn’t find how to make the launch zone follow the aiming point in the targeting system. I saw many YouTubers with this feature, but I couldn’t find any settings for it in the controls. Please help with this. I will attach a screenshot of how it looks with the YouTubers.

In my experience you need to turn your helicopter until the the aiming point is inside of the missile targeting zone

You have to turn the helicopter to get the launch zone where you want it to be, what you see in that video at the start is likely the player using the yaw control to turn the helicopter while still in gunners sights.
I don’t know if this is possible for console as i do not play on console, but for mouse and keyboard you kan key bind all the steering separately. That is done so that you will still be able to control flying with the mouse as normal when in pilots/3’rd person view but in gunners view the mouse controls the aim and the key binds control the helicopter.

You didn’t understand, in the YouTuber’s video, he controls the launch zone not by moving the helicopter with the keyboard, but specifically with the mouse, controlling the aiming point.

I do not see what you describe, where exactly in the video did you see this?

I need the square, representing the launch zone, to be fixed to the targeting point in the sighting system, just like it is shown in the YouTuber’s video.

Yes, that is the launch zone, it does not actually “move” with the mouse. If you look at the bottom of the screen the launch zone is still static in relation to where the helicopter is facing.
I also think that is the old HUD that has been changed to show the actual size of the launch zone instead of a minimized dynamic one as that is more intuitive.

There is no actual difference in function, it is just a visual thing that was changed for clarity.

So, this function was available before, but now it’s no longer available? Is there an easier way to control the launch zone without pressing the W key 1000 times per second?

Or, is it possible to control the helicopter in targeting mode using the targeting point?

The best tips i have for that is several choices:

  1. Fly lower so that the launch zone is already low enough so that you don’t have to correct with W.

  2. Turn off hover mode → Dive → Shoot → Turn hove mode back on. (Repeat when you want to shoot again)

  3. This setting might help you as well if you play around with it a bit and test what works for you:

Alright, we’ve figured out the vertical guidance of the launch zone, but what about the horizontal one? How can I turn it quickly but safely? Q/E don’t work because when you press them, the zone moves in a certain direction and then returns to its original position.

I want to rotate it freely, so that at the right moment I can guide the missile to the target, instead of adjusting the launch zone — because in that case the enemy gets the first shot, and that’s a 95% chance of losing the vehicle.

I personally either just change the aim to be inside the zone and then guide the missile towards the target manually until i see it again (without changing the helicopters position at all) or i combine the A/D and W to quickly align the shot and fire before starting the hover again.

That’s likely only possible if the helicopter is already hovering still on the spot. As soon as you have any forward speed the helicopter will automatically try to adjust to be “straight” in the direction of travel due to aerodynamics.

And yeah, my launch zone keeps drifting to the left when I’m hovering with the hover mode turned off.
