HELP - PC Restarts when in game

Hello, I know it’s probably a common issue, but I’m getting desperate here.

So let me explain what’s been my experience so far. I’ve been playing the game for years on this configuration:

AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF
Sapphire NITTRO+ RX580 8GB DDR5
16 GB DDR4 RAM

This setup has been working flawlessly, until few months ago when it started to randomly cause the PC to restart during normal gaming. After a fair bit of debugging, I found that the CPU is getting hot. I attempted to address that by swappting with bigger cooler, but that just extended the restart window with 5 minutes.
After that I’ve decided it’s time to get a new gaming PC. Nothing fancy, but swapping AMD with Intel because of the temps.
Now I have this rig

i5 9400F
16GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM
GTX 1660TI 6GB

And I have even worse experience with the restarts. This new rig doesn’t overheat it stays below 40-50 degrees C. This time it doesn’t even let me begin a game. As soon as the maps loads and you spawn, the PC restarts.

This is what I’ve tried so far:

-Disable the anti-cheat - doesn’t help
-Uninstall the standard installation from the website and install the version from Steam - doesn’t help
-Obvously install on a completely differrent PC - doesn’t help
-Run all driver updates possible - doesn’t help
-Change BIOS to allow UEFI and legacy settings - doesn’t help

Checking windows event viewer shows generic error like
‘The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.’

I’m desperate now! I really believe it’s software issue. Please help me sort this out!

Thank you in advance!

There is the nuclear option of putting windows installation files on a USB, wiping hard drive and then reinstalling Windows altogether. I don’t know what else I would do in your situation.

I’ve done that, twice 🥲 and doesn’t help.

But thanks for your reply 🙏

I finally found what’s wrong!

The PSU of the new rig was faulty. I’ve swapped it for a new unit and problems are gone.

I hope this helps others with this kind of issues.
