I was going to install the dev server client then decided not to but now everytime i open the launcher it tries to install the dev server client even after reinstalling a new launcher. I also think some war thunder files were also deleted as the folder is now 31 ish gigs and aces.exe and other stuff doesn’t exist. Now what do i do? If i put a launcher in some other directory then it tries to install the full game? That would take too long with my internet and some game files are still there(In main folder).
Did you install the dev server in the original war thunder folder? Because in that case the dev server files have overwritten the original files. You need to install the DEV server in a different folder and the original game in the standard folder to be able to have both working at the same time by starting different launchers.
If you installed the DEV server over the original game then you will indeed need to re-install the original game again (and then DEV server in a different folder again if you still want both).
You might just have saved the launcher and keep trying to start the dev launcher instead of the original launcher, double check the file location of the launcher you are starting.
Yes that is what i did i had war thunder in a folder so when i installed the dev client launcher it automatically selected the folder my main war thunder was in. I thought this was where i was supposed to install it. I didnt install the dev server client i just waited until i could see how many gigs it was then i stopped it but i presume the damage is done? is there no way to recover from here? my userskins and usersights folders are unchanged. not everything is gone
Try downloading the normal launcher again and select the same folder again, but instead of installing the game; click the wrench top right and then “Check files” (NOT “Diagnostic files”) and it might just recognise the original install and only download the files that got messed with by the DEV launcher.
If it doesn’t then i think re-installing the game might be the only option, not sure though.
It was stuck on “dev” and there was no option to check files but right above it there was a dropdown menu that allowed me to select production and it recognized the game files that were left over and now its only a 30gb download instead of 60gb :) Thank you so much for your help, i really appreciate this :))))
