Help deciding what pack to get

I’m looking to get one of the four Xbox packs that includes three tanks, and I’m mainly interested in the Two Fronts pack. However, I have two problems. 1 I have been waiting for a sale, but 2 pc sales have gone by with no Xbox sale, and my parents say it is a bad deal even though I have already gotten 4 premiums, 2 of which were 10.7 on sale. Now, problem 2, I don’t know which to get. I mainly like heavy tanks with a good gun, though if it is fast enough, I will take a fast tank with low armour as long as it has a good gun. Thank you for your help.

  1. Xbox is not confirmed to be receiving a pack sale anytime soon

  2. The May '45, Overlord, and Hell packs will not be going on sale until likely December

  3. Iirc Two Fronts will not be going on sale until after the next major update

I’d say Two Fronts is the best of the 3 with May '45 being a close second

Reasoning:
Stable BR (2 5.7s and one 5.3)
Strong tanks
Two identical heavies
Tiger H1s without the launcher nerf
Ostwind is a strong SPAA in any BR of Germany
There is a lineup that can be made around the tanks

Alright, that was the reason why I chose the two fronts, yeah, Xbox hasn’t gotten a sale in a while so I think it will hopefully be soon.

For your future consideration, Hell on Wheels isnt half bad of a pack, but sucks that if you want to use all three vehicles, you have to uptier it to 6.0. That being said 5.7 US is goated, you have several options to choose from to make a lineup.

76mm Shermans are great mediums. Mobility is great, and short-stop stab gives you great reaction time. 76mm gun can punch through the frontal turret face of Tiger II (P) or Panthers including the schmalturm variants and has enough pen to take on any almost 6.7 heavy from the side.

you can also add up to two Jacksons. Their 90mm gun is great, 185mm/10m/@10° APHE is serious business at 5.7. base M36 works better when played as medium, while M36B2 fits the traditional TD role more thanks to HEAT-FS which allows you to take on german big cats frontally on maps where you cant flank.

Both T1E1s are good quasi-heavy tanks, their armor isnt the greatest but they have really nice transmission and mobility overall. 76mm variant plays lot like Sherman and 90mm variant gives you same punch as M36. On top of that they have coaxial 37mm gun with SAPHEI shell that is devastating against light tanks, meaning you can have a follow up shot if anything goes wrong.

Jumbo Sherman isnt half-bad brawler, you can easily manhandle Tiger Is, but you need to work around its lower pen. In downtiers tho it is an absolute beast.

Skink is workable as AA. People hate on it for some reason, despite its firerate and muzzle velocity being actually only slightly worse than Wirbelwind while at the same time having few advantages such as faster horizontal traverse, being completly enclosed and having larger mag size meaning longer burst.

Slap Thunderbolt or Skyraider for CAS on top of it and you got solid lineup.

Unlike the previous commenter, id actually say May '45 isnt actually that good.

34/85 is, well, 34/85. Its great medium with APHE shell that doesnt care about angles, but you have to work around its gun depression.

IS1 is from my experience quite bad. It has the same firepower as 34/85 but unlike them, or Shermans or even the 76mm T1E1 for that matter, you wont be flanking in IS1 anytime soon, making it, at least in my experience, unusable in uptiers. Armor is its weakest point, it barely works at its own BR let alone in uptier. Sure some say you can just reverse into battle and let engine soak up shots but that works only if the person shooting at you does not notice your turret or commander cupola which is usually one hit kill with any APHE round.

Hanomag has some nice firepower against planes but good luck surviving literally anything, rifle caliber MGs included.

The 5.0 one is great, the 5.3 one is great. The 5.7 was great until about 6 months ago when they screwed with the suspension. It does weird things now like vibrating when you come to a stop on a slight incline or decline, goes flying if you hit a bump going fast. Theres a player who responds with a list of the bug reports on every official post they release here. Its actually quite infuriating that gaijin released a bugged vehicle as a product.

Otherwise i do agree with you, i think why the May pack is good though is the BR, you dont have to uptier anything. Same with the 2 fronts. The t3485 work in uptiers due to its mobility, and when youre not slapped to 6.7 you can play the is1 to some success. The armor is quite good frontaly, the issue is the lower plate, and if you try to angle to increase its effective you negate the angle on your side armor presenting a weak spot for your enemy. It does however have a good and responsive reverse gear if i recall correctly meaning its a good tank to fire and retreat. Its a good tank to play at miduim range in reverse too, as it makes hitting your cupola harder and if you move around when taking fire it makes the cupola even harder to hit. And so long as you avoid playing it at 6.7 or taking it out as a first spawn in 6.7 it should work pretty well.

I like how neither of you mentioned the british pack which i cant for the life of me remember the name of.

believe me, ive noticed.

the TT vehicle choices to bolster the lineup arent as impressive as they are with the US. Been a while since i played WW2 germany and i dont have game open right now so im not gonna comment on that one for now.

well technically the AA :P

eeeeeh, dunno. i hated every second of it. Ive felt like im sitting in 34/85 but without the mobility and with roughly the same, if not worse protection, mostly due to the aforementioned issue with turret armor. Replaced it with KV-122 in my lineup because at least that one packs a punch.

And i have no issues with IS-1 tanks now that i spam the pack easy eight.

Echoes of Overlord. And while i had fun playing Firefly, Avenger and Concept, i wouldnt recommend it to new player not familiar with WT damage model, as they will struggle with AP rounds.

then again all three vehicles get camo nets so it immidiately wins the drip check.

i shouldnt talk either now that i think about it, i checked my service record in it, iirc i spaded it then put it away and replaced it with the su85m lol. When you angle that thing at meduim range the 76mm us and short 88mm will bounce.

Theyre very easy to kill, cupola or lower front plate. Thats why i think meduim range, engine facing enemy, move back and forth if youre about to get shot to make the cupola shot harder. And i believe the turret is much stronger than the t3485 so wiggle the turret might be good too. Id have to pick it up again and see how i do.

I would pay for sandbag or camo net cosmetics that you could put on your regular tanks. Even ammo boxes or other tank related items.

gonna admit, me too.

i think 76mm has enough punch to pen the turret face/cheeks, should anyone go for them instead of the cupola.
