Helicopter zoom too high on Tiger HAC

Hello, I have an issue with tiger HAC, the zoom is so high that i can’t use it because it zooms too much. I tried the zoom axis option for 20 minutes without finding something suitable. It seems there is no key to switch between different levels of zoom. How do you guys do with this issue ? Thanks

i was on your position too, tried to adjust it on options but couldnt, they need to add a proper way to adjust the zoom multiplier, it also happens to some jets AGMs camera

who is lmao?
the sister of the chinese hacker right?
He working for the koreans isnt he?

Why are you angry? Try the options in the mouse wheel axle

i will try again but i swear i couldnt make it work

That’s the way the mouse wheel is set up, land to land, air to air, helicopter to helicopter

Probably set the throttle

Too bad because the chopper is almost useless and I totally regretted the money I spent on this chopper. All in all choppers in Warthunder are mis-treated and too complex compared with almost any other vehicle. You are a VERY easy target.

My advice… forget choppers. They are waste of time money and Warthunder don’t give a shit.

I fly helicopters pretty often, so I hope I can help out!
First, these are my settings I use to adjust the zoom with the mousewheel:

Make sure that the option “Zoom axis” is not set to relative control (Relative control > No). To do that, double click “Zoom axis” so another window pops up (or click on “Zoom axis” and then click on the little joystick icon on the bottom right).
Additionally I have set “Zoom Camera” (found in Controls > Common > Basic) to a key (in my case the closest mouse key on the side, MB4) that allows me to fully zoom in or out, to quickly reset the zoom without scrolling like a maniac in those high-zoom helis.

Unfortunatley the option “Save zoom state when switching cameras” (found in Option > Main > Other Settings) doesn’t work in helis, so you need to adjust the zoom everytime you switch into gunners view, which is kinda annoying, but you can somewhat cancel the zooming in by pressing the button for “Zoom camera” and immediatley scrolling the wheel. By that you quickly zoom in and stop the zoom before fully zoomed to keep an overview of the battlefield. Logitech’s feature to switch to a freescrolling (instead of scrolling in increments) wheel is a clear advantage, but I figured I need more buttons so I went with a MMO mouse from Steelseries.

Will try some more. looking at your positions. Anyway tx for your effort Dashdot.

The zoom is absolutely useless.

Playing heli is already very difficult. The tanks and planes are overpowered to the extreme compared to heli’s … it’s simply not a fair game !

DO NOT USE MONEY ON THE HAP HELI. YOU ARE WASTING TIME AND MONEY !

That’s your problem. You can’t adapt to the zoom ratio of the optical sight

Honestly, i don’t understand why they dont put the zoom in different multiplier. Example : on my settings the zoom is W key. Pressing W should give 100%, pressing it again should give 75% then 50% then 25% then 0. Ok it’s a lot of key press to return to initial view, but you could also press the key to get out of first person view to reset it. Or that the mouse wheel would have a fixed % zoom, at the moment you have to roll like an athlete to get the first 60% of max zoom, then you suddenly get at 100% in a few cranks of the mouse wheel. Totaly useless…

That’s a bug that Gaijin never bothered to fix with the zoom axis control. It’s been like this for years sadly.

What you can do is set the scroll wheel directly to zoom, it may already be bound to throttle control though, so you have to find something else for that. But this is the only way you can have linear zoom control for now until they fix the zoom axis control.
