Heavy Cromwell - the Cromwell gets an early facelift

The pictures show it is fitted with the earlier Ordnance QF 6pdr 7cwt Mk III, denoted by the shorter barrel and no muzzle counterweight.

Absolutely +1 for this interesting and unique Cromwell variant, perfect event vehicle.

Oh, gods. Well, could be worse - it could’ve been the 75mm 6-pounder. That really wouldn’t be a fun vehicle to ace.

It’s still mostly a yes from me. Hope to see this Cromwell with its smooth skincare solution.

cant the early 6 pounder still use APDS its just inaccurate?

I dont know if anyone has posted this yet but some of the add on armor did make it to the front with 75mm cromwells

I think the one proposed here should be the Churchwell. Sure looks to me as if those two had mated…

This would be absolutely amazing, i really hope they give the british low tier much needed attention soon.

Still not terrible, considering the Cromwell I in-game has the Mk III (should be a Mk V though, reported that 8 years ago). So 4.0 would be fine I think.

Hot dog

Gotta remake the meme. + Heavy Cromwell.

And change the Longwell Mk.2 to just the Longwell 2 (like with Challenger 2)

+1000 This would be amazing for the british tree, although i’m a little confused, what’s the difference between this one and the Cromwell Mk. VwD, is it a different model of Cromwell? Whatever it is, i still support this being added +1

This had a unique all-welded turret, wider 15.5-inch tracks, and the 6pdr Mk. III. It was essentially a test-bed for an all-welded Cromwell and, later, for the application of applique armour.

The Mk. Vw had the standard dual-layer Cromwell turret just with a thicker front plate, 14-inch tracks, and the 75mm Mk. V. The Vw was effectively the production version, using what was learnt from building welded hulls, and actually saw frontline service.

+1! It would be great to see in the tech tree!

Ed’s video is a real gem.

There’s also the cast Cavalier, which could be a cool 3.0 premium.

Then there’s the spaced armour Cromwell which could be a 3.3 premium. Sadly Ed says they only applied it to one side, but perhaps Gaijin could do a “as-intended” and give it to both sides.
